Fuck the Jailers. Who thought that putting a bunch of them in the same room was a good idea? Or making an enemy that can drop your max HP through line of sight a good idea?

If it was an attack that required the enemy to do something, that'd be fair. But just fucking 'looking at you?'' While it can run and attack at the same time?! Fuck.

Yep, F' the Jailers. Sniping my way through the whole room was not fun. It was just tedious.

Update "People actually read these?!":

Rather productive session. Finished off Aldrich after finally realizing I shouldn't try anything fancy when simply chasing after him and slashing away with my upgraded Longsword does the trick. Two handed my Longsword, equipped the Grass Crest Shield for stamina regen, and ran around like a heroin junkie chasing after the pile of shit (seriously, I'm pretty sure Aldrich is a literal bullshit boss). And since I still remember being annoyed by the un-fun Gwyndoline corrider boss fight in DS 1, this was extra cathartic. Gwyndolin's half-eaten corpse managed to provide a better boss fight than his living self.

Then I immediately got teleported to Emma and foolishly approached the basin, triggering the Dancer fight. When I had only one Estus charge left. I died, though I got about halfway through her health. The second time I had full Estus, making it a lot easier. BTW can anyone confirm if you get teleported immediately if Yhorm was the third Lord defeated? Meaning you can't finish Siegward's last conversation? If so, that just gives more reasons to save Aldrich for last.

I then found myself going into the Consumed King's Garden. Another Toxic hellhole. Welp, after grabbing all the loot, I tackled the Consumed King. With the Hawkwood summon's help, it was not too bad. Did it on the first try. I used the Longsword again — did I mention before how great this thing is?

Now I'm in Untended Graves. I spent my first trip through gathering all the loot and killing the invader. I had like 3 Estus left by the time I got to the arena and a lot of souls, so I figured I'd go back to Firelink, level and stop there.

[up]The player being teleported into the Dancer's arena seems to takes far longer if Siegward is in your party after beating Yhorm. Enough that you can talk to him a couple of times, run around the room and collect loot, and probably even teleport back to Firelink manually if you're impatient.

Champion Gundyr, AKA the ever-lasting stamina battery, is up next. Keep in mind he has this nasty judo-kick which he can quickly pull off against players trying to stay behind him, and there will be times where you'll swear the guy has no end to his stamina pool (only boss worse than this is probably Blackflame Friede from the Ariandel DLC).

Oh, and if you obtained the zen meditation pose, try using it in the Irythyll dungeon where you can see some rugs, pottery and incense set up facing towards the mountains. That's how you can access Archdragon Peak.

Putting this in new post:

Just killed Champion Gundyr. First try too, believe it or not. And I even used Sword Master, who is supposedly dead weight in this fight. In this one having a distraction saved my ass. Sword Master even landed the finishing blow on Gundyr!

Next up, Archdragon Peak!

Man first try? He took me more tries than any other boss in the game save for the DLC ones. Even the final boss and namelss king. He was hard as hell for me.

Boo, not trying bosses without help first! Git gud.

I believe there is something still to find behind Aldrich's boss room if you teleport back. Unless you weren't given the chance to even light the Bonfire. Speaking of ol' sludgy, it is a known fact that he melts when exposed to fire, despite his second phase utilizing it.

Well, there certainly is after a certain traitorous NPC kills another.

...Damn. At this point, pretty sure you're going to breeze through the rest of the bosses. Maybe Soul of Cinder might be a bit tricky, but if you managed to take down all of these guys in two tries or less I suspect you'll only find the DLC bosses truly challenging.

Aldrich took three tries, actually. First two tries I tried to be fancy and use the Lothric Knight Greatsword. Then I wised up and used the Longsword.

tip for nameless king: the dragonknight greatshield makes him much easier.

TBH, out of Seath's incarnations / inheritors, I'd rank them thus in terms of difficulty from weakest to strongest boss fights:

1. Seath himself was kind of a pushover — only hard part was cutting off his tail to get the Moonlight Greatsword. I was also playing Pyromancer at the time, which was pretty damn powerful in DS 1.

2. Oceiros was more challenging due to being more aggressive, but Hawkwood made it not too bad for me.

3. Duke's Dear Freja was the one that gave me the most trouble, in part because I'm terrified of spiders. Probably didn't help that I played DS 2 with keyboard and mouse controls.

...Okay, just what is it about me that makes Aldrich such a pushover boss, but virtually every other boss in the game (save for Deacons of the Deep) is a menace capable of killing me more than 15 times? Cause seriously, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Dragonslayer Armor, and later on Soul of Cinder utterly whupped my ass far too many times to count.

Internet is on the fritz so I cut my session short today. I will save Nameless King for another day. I settled for finishing exploring the rest of Archdragon Peak, upgrading Lothric Knight Shield, and dealing with Hawkwood. Those summoners are really annoying btw — I am lucky they never summoned Havel. And yes, I got the Drakeblood and Havel sets.

Achievements are saved on your profile, online or offline. They of course aren't updated to the server until you reconnect.

Some pointers;

Almost everything in this game hates Frost. If it isn't excuding Frost itself, it probably is vulnerable to it.

Dragons don't like their faces hit with anything.

If it stumbles after a hit, GET IN THERE.

Oh, and the camera is, bar none, your single worst enemy during the first half of the Nameless King fight. Makes it way harder to evade the wyvern's flame breath and landings than it should be.

king of storms is the harder part of the fight TBH, it's a mess of a fight and his flame breath deals ludicrous damage.

I'm thinking of trying him again after I get that shield from the Dragon Slayer and respeccing my stats so I can actually use it. Using a pale tongue just to respec won't break Sirris' questline, right?

Personally I figure that one was due to Karla being in that room along with it being the entrance to the Profaned Capital. A bit of environmental storytelling if you will.

I need a new sig.
