S3E5: The girls keep teasing Kumiko with Shuichi, but it’s Kumiko’s interactions with Reina that are romantically charged! This is yuribait of the highest level. I do love how Reina’s been pushing Kumiko to go to a music school so they could stay together. Wonder if she’ll take her up on her offer?

Guess Mayu is really there to serve as a sort-of obstacle to Kumiko as a performer at the competition. And with the club now holding auditions for each performance, I have a sinking feeling Kumiko will lose her part to Mayu for the first one. Maybe.

S3E6: Somehow I knew that Taki-sensei would field three on euphonium. And Kumiko nabbed the soli! It's not often that she gets serious, and this might be another sign that she should pursue music as a career.

Our source of audition drama turns out to be a first year tuba player getting in over a more technically skilled second year. President Kumiko's troubles never do end.

S3E7: Stop pushing Kumiko and Tsukamoto together, the true pairing is Kumiko and Reina! Seriously, Reina being sad that she wouldn't have much time to hang out with Kumiko over summer break was so adorable. They even got matching swimsuits!

We also got a better glimpse into Mayu's head. She's like Kumiko in the sense she's not really fixated on anything. A rather relevant mindset, considering Kumiko's struggles with deciding her path in life.

S3E8: I don’t know who’d be surprised that Mayu gets the soli. I just want the whole drama about “should I forfeit” to be done with, it got old. Anyway, they already introduced the idea of multiple auditions, so Kumiko will likely win back the solo part come Nationals.

Also in what world is Kanade “brutally honest”? She just makes a bunch of snide remarks!

It's so over.

Amazing episode, super fun drama, Taki really had to deliver the news himself that he's throwing a nuke at the band's mind state, think fast kids! Kanade losing her spot to perform is just extra collateral.

Someone will have to hold Kanapii from going turbo aggro mode next week.
