Let's just hope they use the Gamecube Controller adapter and force the Gamecube library to require those, without exceptions. They could make a killing off both adapter and software sales.
Forcing a specific, not included in the system controller is something that's been done before with N64 games on the Wii VC(need a GCN or a Classic controller)
Or Nintendo could completely skip over the Gamecube's entire library for the Switch and wait until they release a new console that has analog shoulder buttons on its controller.
On Gamecube titles on Switch, it'd be nice if Nintendo did physical compilations. It's not their thing for non 8 and 16 bit games though. Heck. a N64 compilation game would be a fine substitute for a N64 Classic.
Not like they care for 1-2-Switch or Super Mario Party.
You can play those in tabletop mode, no?
You can play Super Mario Party in tabletop mode, but it's probably pretty terrible. Unless you're doing Toad's Rec Room stuff designed around it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? Some of Breath of the Wild's puzzles are incredible cumbersome in handheld mode, as well as Super Mario Odyssey locking some of the advanced move options behind gyro controls.
None of this negates the fact that they CAN be played that way.
I mean there's an easy solution to this: make a second Gamecube controller that's wireless.
Wireless GCN controllers for the Switch already exist. They're third party (I think?) and require batteries, but they do exist.
They also have home and screenshot buttons. So that's a thing.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I did a quick google search, only one I found is by Power A. So yeah, third party.
And it's not a wavebird, so clearly it's heresy.
No they don't. Those things have digital L and R buttons, not analogue.
Ukrainian Red Cross"Microsoft preparing to bring Xbox Live to iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch"
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute. When MS bought Minecraft I made a comment that we'd be more likely to get Minecraft on Nintendo platforms. That ended up being correct, but I didn't think that would extend to other MS services.
Of course the dream is Banjo and Halo on Nintendo, but that's not happening right now.
New Yu-Gi-Oh game for the Switch announced.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? This could be really good. You can't really compete with Nintendo's first party library, and Microsoft has tried and failed to emulate their UI and charm otherwise, but they sure as hell can compete with their abysmal online service.
People probably aren't going to be playing Smash or Mario Kart through Xbox Live, but there's plenty of popular western games that might implement it.

Gimme back Banjo dangit
Karx: Is it new, or is it just an update of the one that’s been on PS4 for a few years now?
Not sure.

You don’t NEED those though. They exist if you wan them, butnyoh’re notnreauired To buy them if you’d rather play on a Joycon.
You would NEED to buy a new controller to use Game Cube functionality. Period.
