I hope that the third season drops on D+ by the time my wife and I finish the second season. However, she's much more invested in the show since Last Crash so we're going faster.

[up]Knowing Disney Plus drops a season one month after it's done, I'd say season 3 will be on Disney Plus sometime in April.

@GlitterCat I think the show is enjoyable without actually knowing the Disney Afternoon references (which only became abundant in Season 3 anyway). Even for someone who never watched Darkwing Duck or TaleSpin, they throw in enough explanation to make it possible to follow.

[up]I agree. I didn't watch too many shows in the Disney Afternoon, and I still enjoy this season greatly.

Yeah, they did a good job on making these characters accessible to people not familiar with those shows.

[up]Ah, so Poe will appear in duck form! Interesting.

Here's a YouTube video of Poe and Magica terrorizing villagers.

That was a great joke.

I do feel Poe looks a bit too much like Magica, though. They look like twins or something.

Someone on twitter said how they seem similar to Amity's siblings in terms of how they look.

Fun fact: James Monroe Iglehart was originally considered to voice Drake until the crew decided to go with Chris Diamontopolous for sounding closer to Jim's take.

Also, I notice a bit of a running gag with characters claiming this is the fourth x thing that has occured like:

  • Depths of Cousin Fethry: "This is the fourth coolest thing you have ever done Mitzy"
  • Last Christmas: "This is like the fourth weirdest thing that's happened to us on Christmas"
  • There was one time where Scrooge mentions is being the fourth time he's met Black Heron but can't recall the episode.

Hilariously ironic that for all the fourth x gags, the show sure couldn't muster a fourth season.

I find it a little curious that the promos refer to May and June as "sisters", but don't indicate that they are Daisy's nieces. It's entirely possible that the show will pull Unrelated in the Adaptation for them.

Hmm, so April isn't there, and they are not Daisy's nieces.

Webby is going to wish she's triplets, isn't she? She's already been Scrooge, after all.

Regarding the clip with Magica and Poe - Papa was apparently turned into a a milk-producing goat.

Seeing that clip, now I kinda figure out where the OOC Scrooge line from this ask is from:

Said line is “Then I sold the goats.”

I found this video about Mrs. Beakley. I'll have to find the tumblr posts mentioned, but the theory presented is quite interesting.

I find it weird that the final episode is claimed to be "90 minutes long", when it's also said to be the length of three regular episodes, which are 22 minutes long each. I know it's because when it airs on TV, it's played over the course of 90 minutes due to commercial breaks, but when you stream it without breaks, it will most likely be somewhere between 65 and 70 minutes in length.

That's how it always works. Normal episodes, when run on TV, are 30 minutes with commercials, as you say. And since the promos are for the TV version, it makes sense to tell people that it will be 90 minutes, rather than 66.

It is rather telling though just how much time gets sucked up by commercials on TV. That's almost a third of the air time. You wouldn't tolerate that on Youtube.

I wonder if TV shows will go under 20 minutes for "half hour"/under 40 for "hour" slots before schedule-based broadcast programming dies out. The first run of the remastered Star Trek original series, which has runtimes around 50 minutes, was scheduled for 90-minute blocks so they didn't have to cut anything out. Imagine a TV landscape where 22-minute cartoons get rerun in one-hour slots.

I don't think it would ever get that bad.

And as far as I can tell, the 22 minute time has been around for quite a while now.
