amiibos!: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Give Nintendo My Money

Wolf will be my first and only amiibo, unless they make more Wolf-related amiibo.

So that's at least 8 more to add to the collection. Just when I thought I'd finished...

EDIT: Hang on, I forgot the Pokémon Trainer. Now there's a question: will Ivysaur and Squirtle get their own figures like Charizard? I can't imagine that they'd all fit on the one base.

Ivysaur and Squirtle will most likely get individual amiibo.

Red with Squirtle. Leaf with Ivysaur.

I'm also going to go in on Squirtle and Ivysaur getting individual amiibo, along with Red and Leaf getting ones too.

I'm most looking forward to Wolf, Ice Climbers, and Daisy (I even own two of her Mario Bros. series amiibo), but I'm open to considering most of them. I'll even be a sucker for a redesign if it's good (particularly of Ness - he's my main).

I'm a Lucas main, myself. I'll pretty much take what I can get with regards to Mother 3 representation.

re; Pokémon Trainer amiibo

I'd assume they might go full cash-in and make amiibo for Squirtle, Ivysaur, Red and Leaf while bringing Charizard re-prints back. But all of them function as "Pokémon Trainer" when scanned to Smash Ultimate.

Worst case though, only Red and the Charizard amiibo is rendered inert for Ultimate.

I figure the Charizard amiibo will simply count as a Pokemon Trainer amiibo, regardless of what others they release.

Having Red, Leaf and 'zard reprints seem the most likely, with all three of them acting as Trainer.

I did say that Charizard being rendered inert for Ultimate was the worst case possible, but I doubt they would fuck over their fans like that.

Went by EB Games today to grab a Ultra Moon event code.

And to my great surprise they had a full restock of all seven Zelda Anniversary Amiibo.

I managed to get a Majora's Mask Link and Oo T one. Which I'm pretty happy about.

Since those were really the only two Amiibo I planned to buy, but missed out on.

Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, Chrom, Dark Samus, and King K. Rool have been announced for Smash Ultimate today.

And all five will be getting amiibo in the future.

Pre-orders are up for K. Rool, the Ice Climbers, and the Piranha Plant's respective amiibos.

Between the three, which do you guys will be the hardest to acquire?

Varies by region I'd say.

Keep in mind that there's no telling how the smash restocks and new Smash amiibo will affect the significantly calmer amiibo market. We're long past the crazy days of 2015.

Yeah, I don't even see Gamestop have any amiibo in stock around here anymore. I gotta order them mostly online now.

I wonder if the Young Link Smash amiibo will be treated as OoT!Link or MM!Link when used on other titles, like, say Breath of the Wild.

... How does Bot W treat the different Links again? I know Smash Link (or should we say TP Link despite him not having the double clawshot) gives Epona and subsequent scans give... Arrows, I think?

Smash!Link and TP!Link both confer Epona the first time scanned, and have a chance of yielding parts of the Armour of Twilight afterwards.

In terms of unique drops, the other Links each offer a chance for pieces of their respective Armour sets (Hero for classic 8-bit Link, Time for OoT!Link, Fierce Deity for MM!Link, Wind for WW!Link and Smash!Toon Link, and Sky for SS!Link), and a unique weapon for each.

It's pretty much all listed here.

I forgot that TP Link existed as a seperate amiibo from Smash 4 Link.

Do the Link amiibo outnumber Mario amiibo? I know Zelda is a huge franchise for Nintendo, but damn.

Hey guys, I have a question about cleaning/dusting amiibo. Namely, the Bayonetta amiibo. I usually use a slightly moist Q-tip to clean my amiibo, but she has so many little grooves (especially in her hair) that are hard to get at, and sometimes the Q-tip leaves behind more fuzz than it takes out. I have a similar problem with Smash!Donkey Kong and Sonic (the back of his head in the latter's case). What do y'all recommend?

Hrm... ever consider cellophane tape? I mean, you do have to be careful with it, since it's a nightmare to get off if a tiny sliver gets separated, but it can pick up dust and the like very easily. Painter's tape might work even better, because the adhesive for that is deliberately weak and isn't meant to permanently stick to surfaces.
