I don't remember anything about Operation Paperclip, and I just reread everything two days ago. I thought all the comics were published online now. Are there some still only in print?
It was in one of the extra's that they put in the back of the volumes. It was online before the relaunch but it seems to have fallen under the rug in the move.
It was a 4-5 page short about how FDR authorized Majestic 12 because they couldn't 100% trust Robo when it came to american interests with Teslatech anymore.
Basically, MJ 12 is not an Anti-Robo Faction in design, it just became one. In fact, it probably only became actively Anti-Robo when they had to call him in to save Jenkins and he was...less than amused about what they were doing.

"You can reply to this Message!"New. I wonder if that one guy did that whole thing with keeping the girl out of the system to protect her, or if it was just a coincidence.
Coincidence I think. New hire and the IT guys being lazy fucks?
"You can reply to this Message!"I think you're right that this isn't Majestic. Majestic are much better at recon than this. Casing a joint requires more than watching it from 9:00am to 9:05am and writing down everyone who comes in.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.Like I said, I think those are some mercs hastily hired by another party trying to capitalize on MJ 12's operation.
They managed to initiate the download to the local server by hack and then send in the muscle to retrieve the hard drive.
"You can reply to this Message!"I think that if he was trying to protect her, he'd know enough to be able to avoid getting shot in the face himself.
So. Not part of Robo's group of survivors, but about to be. Also puts her stealing the computer in a new light. I thought she knew who was after her and was prepared for it, but it seems like she figured it all out in two seconds and then just ran.
Good Action Scientist instincts!
"You can reply to this Message!"Bad villain instincts. Maybe you're right about this not being Majestic. They're usually smarter than this.
On the other hand, there were those two idiots who watched Jenkins kill a guy who was wearing full power armor and still dismissed him as a threat.
Yeah but those were mooks. Those guys would be assumed to be senior field agents. So yeah, this reeks like subcontractors.
Another possibility for their boss: ALAN.
The download is done by hacking. If the goons are hired per wire it would explain them being...well...hired goons
"You can reply to this Message!"Hm. ALAN doesn't strike me as the type whose schemes would require whacking random Tesladyne employees in Rio. He's been able to exploit Tesladyne's intellectual resources without such crude measure before, and some random meatbags aren't much of a threat to him.
ALAN did use Majestic 12 before, but it's not clear if he did the whole "Mysterious orders appear mysteriously" thing, or if he just knew that they'd attack with Robo damaged.
They're actually goons hired by Undead Edison, who's been plotting for the last few years and is now making his move to capitalize on the current chaos.
I'd like to say that is the coolest thing, but it's always possible Clevinger will think of something to top it.
We can probably rule out Helsingard. Not enough underground bunkers.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.I don't know, I'm not sure we've seen enough of the plan yet to determine if there's enough underground bunkers or not.
Proxy soldiers are ALAN.
Maybe it's Doc Dino who has returned.
Exact Words at its finest. "She's wanted in connection to a murder! Because we just murdered her boss and want to murder her too."
I am somewhat saddened the last stretch goal won't be reached.
"You can reply to this Message!"Yeah. No missile silo for us. More than 200% funded is pretty good, though.
Really good Action Scientist instincts, if she didn't even notice doing it. She'll have to work on that.
Well, I say thats more lack of training :P Vikram is maybe expecting a bit much to her to know the Action Scientist Handbook.
"You can reply to this Message!"
New Comic◊
I still call Raid of Opportunity, rather than part of M J12s thing.
