Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Interested, especially with the idea of playing as a Russian soldier in the Tsar's army
As for classes, here's some suggestions.
- Infantry: Starts out with a basic rifle and pistol, but has more ammunition
- Cavalry: Starts out with a horse, a pistol, and a carbine

Thanks, added Calvary class. I will try to find a more interesting perk to standard Infantry.
If some more people will be interested, I'll start creating character sheets and planning the scenarios out.
EDIT: Aaaand, sign-ups are open!

- Name: Sergei Faustin
- Nation: Russian Empire
- Division: Combat Medic
- Appearance: A young and thin Bishounen with jet black hair, ice blue eyes, and a pale complexion. He wears a standard uniform of the Russian Army with a white armband indicating he's a medic.
- Background Details: A devout follower of the Russian Orthodox Church and loyal to the Tsar, Sergei Faustin eagerly signed up to join the army when war broke out, to fight for Tsar, Church, and Country.
- Flaw: Despite his patriotism and religious devotion, Sergei is overly emotional and prone to emotional breakdowns and crying fits. Not a good thing in a combat situation.
Nice character, you're in.
Ehhhhhh. I want to be interested in something set in WWI, but the interesting battle stories are going to be told at battalion level and above. Platoons weren't a thing until near the end of the war, after years of tactical experimentation; squads would take until 1918 and the Spring Offensive to really come into being. With the possible exception of the Desert Campaign, it's not a theatre of war for much individual initiative; this is a battalion/regimental/divisional officer's war.
So...I'd have to remark that as much as I may want to, I don't see this working for me. Pity, because otherwise I'd have enlisted as the ANZAC or the Canadian Corps in a heartbeat. (Canada's Hundred Days, fuck yeah.) Or maybe an Austrian/German/Russian officer from ex-Poland, dreaming of a free homeland.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.
August 1st, 1914. Pourtalès, the German ambassador, calls on Sazonov, the Russian Foreign Minister, and asks him whether the Russian Government will call off the Russian mobilization. Sazonov declines.
Pourtalès asks again. Sazonov declines again. One last time, Pourtalès asks Sazonov to stop the mobilization, assuring him that the result will be a slaughter.
Sazanov stands his ground. Pourtalès then hands over the German declaration of war in tears. World War 1 begins.
To End All Wars is a role-playing game taking place during WW 1, and exclusively on the Europian theatre. In the game, players play as soliders fighting as either Axis or Allies in the war everyone wanted to be in, but no one wanted to fight in.
The game will simultaneously be played out on different fronts, as PCs each has a country to defend and fight for. PCs fighting for the same nation will fight together with filler NPCs, and each side can kill soldiers on the other side. You don't know who you're shooting at, but it is possible for someone to kill your PC (or you killing another). While battles start out as history remembers them, this campaign adapts to P Cs. Creative moves, teamwork and good RP can change history...
When you fire at a certain location, you don't instantly hit. You must state the direction you wish to shoot at, the number of rounds you wish to shoot, and the weapon you're shooting with. The GM (me) will roll a d20 to decide if you hit anything. The chance to hit your designated target will change according to weather, your wounds, and if you're under fire.
The game is focused on personal stories, more specifically on small PC groups called "Platoons", consisting of 6 P Cs each. A collection of 4 or less Platoons is a Company. Company members can interact with each other however they want (granted they're close enough to interact with) - and that practice is even recommended for strategies.
Unless stated otherwise, each soldier is armed with a pistol, a knife and a rifle, all manufactured by his nation. A PC may play as a member of any one of these divisions:
