Ahem, wrm5, please don't just assert that there is misuse with a trope. Give us some evidence. Especially with a trope this big and which seems to be a fairly common term for this thing.

I know this is going to be an unpopular one, but I've been noticing a LOT of misuse on this trope, and I think it's because of the name.
Specifically, Dropping The Bridge is clearly supposed to be for major, important characters dying in anti-climactic, unceremonious, or contrived ways.
However, I've been seeing a lot of misuse, where people think it's just for ANYONE who dies by being crushed under a falling object, even if they weren't important, or if the death WAS climactic, despite how it happened.
So, I suggest a name change to curb the misuse.
