Conversation on this trope on the discussion page never really progressed to the point of addressing how this goes anywhere beyond its laconic version ("An axe is used as a weapon"), or how "Using a weapon for its intended purpose, and nothing more specific than that," is any more of a trope than "Using a chair for its intended purpose, and nothing more specific than that." A few people did name some tropes sometimes related to the use of axes... much like how the Chairs page names some tropes related to the use of chairs, so that doesn't really present a strong case either. As discussion in that forum has sputtered out, I figured this might be a more appropriate venue. Short of cutting this as another one of those exhausted "List of a specific kind of animal/object/food/etc. in fiction" trope pages, maybe this could be imbued with some kind of actual narrative/characterization factor? As it stands, it's justified to about the same extent as a page on literally every single other possible weapon ever used in human history, and I don't think we have much need of "An Atlatl to Whirl" either.
