Info and footage has started flowing in thanks to a recent loketest. It looks like there are going to be Supers now, at the expense of trying to make a comeback with Rage Mode.

No telling how big of an impact the system changes will have. But if nothing else, I love how bone-crunchingly brutal Paul's Super looks...and feels. I think I need to visit the hospital now.

Lol, "A bunch". Looks like they're bringing back some Tekken 6 customization bits that were missing in Tag Tournament 2. As well as... well... those stupid wings from Tag 2.

Would be great if 7 featured all of the customization options from 6 and Tag 2 together. Hopefully, since we're back to one-on-one, and since they've got more power to work with, hands/torsos and pants/shoes will be separated again.

T7 is TR pretty much...

Tekken 7 is looking ALOT more solid than TTT 2.

Power Crushes and Rage Arts seem to be like opposite counter parts.

Power Crushes to reset or continue your pressure at the cost of life. Particularly useful in the Rage situation when you're winning and have life to spare and your opponent is in rage. Susceptible to lows and I've heard throws as well so its not a complete pressure killer either.

Rage Arts as a clutch(and very hard to clutch might I add) comeback mechanic. Its slow as hell for some characters. You get rage at a very low amount of health in T7 and even then its pretty much useless to go for it if you're on chip status. To get the best use out of it, you'd have to be right at the point where rage starts. Raw Rage Arts need to do 50% raw because its so hard to land them raw. They're probably more useful in a combo. Giving it Armor instead of Invincibility was a smart move on Namco's part.

The game is looking solid and honestly I'd play Lok test version as is.

Can't say I agree (about T7 shaping up to be better than Tag2, opinions though). I enjoyed bounds and liked that I could punish opponents for sloppy play. Do agree with it's removal for this game, but I'm not a fan of the mechanics replacing it. Doesn't mean they're "bad" additions that ruin the gameplay from a technical standpoint (in fact, Rage Arts were handled surprisingly well). But I'm sure I won't get the same enjoyment out of Rage Arts and Power Crushes. Still don't like the idea of "ultras" in Tekken, but that's just something people will have to accept (expected them to do that tbh).

Looks like most of the Rage Arts are liftovers from Street Fighter X Tekken super moves. Maybe they're also experimenting about how to transition for Tekken X Street Fighter?

Gotta admit though, King's seems less impactful when compared to his chain throw... I mean, it's just a normal piledriver!

If you ask me, this is where I got it from

King's Rage Art really should've been a grappling move, instead of having to hit you to activate it. Missed opportunity there but again, things can change.

If it is indeed a test bed for Tekken X SF, I'm pretty sure Zangief won't be throwing a punch to activate his SPD Super.

You can still punish people for Sloppy play in T7...nothing has changed there.

I'm saying T7 is looking more Solid since TTT 2 was definitely a sloppy game and allowed way too many crutches and the Tag system was too much for the already bloated T6 system.

I think King's rage art is some popular Japanese wrestling move...as usual...

What move is that? It looked like a normal jumping piledriver, but I thought there could be a reference or something. Is it the 'point to the fourth wall' thing? What, 'The People's Piledriver'? (Kidding, kidding, I know The Rock doesn't have that move)

So random thought:

Will Julia be appearing as herself or as Jaycee?

Also still wondering if Eliza will stay a Tekken Revolution exclusive or not.

I'm sure there'll be an option to choose between the two, but I much prefer Jaycee.

Not sure about Eliza though.

I really doubt Eliza or Julia as Jaycee are coming back.

At the very least Julia is coming back with some JC stuff. Idk why it has to be one or the other...

I'm sure Julia is only coming back in her default form and I feel that Eliza is a spin-off-only character that is unlikely to make it into the main series. There has never been a character that started off as a spin-off character that made it into the main series in Tekken history and I don't expect that to happen now.

The new mechanics don't look nearly as intrusive as I thought they would be.

Still would've preferred invincible moves, there was something I liked about them (in concept, not execution). Infinite uses isn't exactly a great idea.

Invincible moves made the game even more defensive than it already was.
