So, just going by the trailer, live-action Dumbo feels very different. In the animated film, Dumbo is in a pretty hostile world — his only friend is a mouse, his mother is locked up for defending him, and the crows only come into it at the end and initially begin with (playful) jabs at him. It looks like the mother still ends up behind bars here, but you give Dumbo three human friends (including two children who call him family) and it's immediately a very different film. We'll see how it's all handled in the film itself, of course.

A lot of people are already lamenting the loss of the talking animals,but I think the thing to remember is that they're not trying to emulate the original film,they're doing their own thing where Dumbo is not the main character,so the loss of the talking animals isn't too surprising,although some people might contest the title of the film since it gives the impression that the film is just like animated film,it probably would have been better to choose a different title so can you differentiate between the two films
