I've been toying around with an idea for a religious fantasy RP. It would basically be three different RP's, broken up, the first of which is a group of player characters going through the Nine Levels of Hell, trying to escape to Purgatory. It would be influenced by, of course, The Divine Comedy, but also some things like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry.
While all the player characters would be human, you would gain access to magical abilities, and also an assortment of weapons, including guns, to do battle with the demons of hell. My plan was to have 72 mini-bosses based on the demons listed in the Ars Goetia, with 8 of them in each of the 9 circles.
The player characters would be a group who have recently died, and a rebellious demon believes this is the group that can break out of Hell. Obviously, I would imagine the player characters would not want to stick around Hell.
If, by a stroke of luck and determination, the RP was seen through to the end, it would get a sequel about going through Purgatory, and then a final installment about going through Heaven. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
