I feel like if it was a live action show, there would be zero controversy. It’d just be another sitcom. A fairly decent one with laughs, but a sitcom nonetheless.

It is a bit weird that such a harmless show generated such weird controversy.

I mean, the whole controversy was due to Uzaki's physique. Don't think you could find someone built like that IRL unless you gave H-cup implants to a very petite woman.

Wasn’t the controversy because Uzaki was used in an advertisement campaign or something?

hell, there wasn't even much of a controversy and it was pretty much kept alive by drama chasers/stirrers like Hero Hei

There was a controversy in Japan about her being the mascot for a blood drive I think. It was because it was sexualized nd they thought that was inappropriate for the fuction.

That being said most of controversies were from the aforementioned shit stirrers.

Youtube drama channel, that seems comparable to the likes of Carl Benjamin, and Mundane Matt, you know, a couple of the youtubers that supported the forbidden hashtag. First had the displeasure of encountering his content with the hololive Taiwan incident.

On the other hand, he sure managed to hype me for Mushoku Tensei.

I guess it's just too tryhard edgy? Goblin Slayer had a story to tell amidst all the edginess (full disclosure, the fanservice made me never finish it), Interspecies Reviewers was a lighthearted and fun romp. Redo of Healer just comes off as (and I really don't say this likely, as the term's been overused to death) an incel revenge fantasy.

Funny, I don't remember that much fanservice when I read the manga.

As for Redo of a Healer, Joey AKA The Anime Man briefly covered the anime and turns out, theu censored the scene that would cause a shitstorm with a minutes-long image of a fireplace.

Meaning you had to look for the uncensored version to see it in all its glory, and no one can really be arsed.

He's not a convicted pedo, but his general reaction to women doesn't seem restricted by age, which makes his already gross thought crimes even grosser. Like his casual mention of how he'll "raise" his new childhood friend into his ideal girl.

Like, let's call out all the awful shit some characters say/do without making anything up please

We're not supposed to like that part of him. We can understand where he comes from, but that parts not supposed to be likable. The main thing is how he'll start over in the new world, and just because he's been healed of his hikokomori tendencies, it doesn't mean he'll change overnight.

x2 not quite. In the original webnovel, what his siblings caught him watching during their parents funeral was a recording of his underage niece. In the light novel this was changed to uncensored loli porn (whether this means actual child porn or anime loli isn't specified)

Does it matter if he was convicted or not? He was still a pedophile from what I'm understanding, with pictures on his laptop and all. I don't see how him dying before being convicted is any better... or how we're supposed to understand where he's coming from.
