I have never played Skyrim. I do not get this reference.
Kaze ni Nare!Well, there's your homework for the night.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. The Season 10 comics are legit, both Andy Price and Pencils confirmed they are coming.
Why would they be an April Fools joke? It's not even close to April. Actually, it's just about as far from April as you can get, give or take a week.
Optimism is a duty.An announcement for the My Little Pony movie in 2021:
According to the movie thread, it will have no connection to G4, though there is no source for that.
Also, there is a G5 Wiki, because of course there is. Weirdly, it is talking in the past tense about 2020, and it is claiming that G5 will be targeted at an even younger audience, though I don't see how that would work short of outright babyfying the show.

Optimism is a duty.Weird, I thought they were going to do the thing where the G4 characters cross over into the new world to set up the sequel.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayMe too, and since I have not yet read anything official to contradict that, I am going to assume that is still the case.
Optimism is a duty.I don't believe in the concept of irredeemability. Despite that, I am a big supporter of the death penalty.
This may seem like a strange combination, but it comes down to risk, responsibility and the fact that not everyone is equally easy and safe to try redeem.
When a criminal is dangerous, you have to consider the future. Death is the only punishment with a 100% certainty installed. Here in SA, one of our serial killers escaped his cell in maximum security six times. Allowing possible continuation of a criminals activities means you are helping them commit future crimes, making you an accessory and already guilty of every crime it is even possible for them to commit.
Discord is an unusual case because it was literally impossible to enforce a permanent punishment on him. They weren't physically capable of killing him and new he was definitely going to escape one day. As such, unless they redeemed him, they were screwed. That means that trying everything to redeem him no matter what was their only real option.
They could have smashed his statue. Seemed to work for killing off the Storm King.
Or they could have thrown it through a portal. It's not like there wasn't precedent for that, either.
Or, you know, they could have not put it on public display. Haul it off to some distant mountain and seal it off in a cave. After Grogar's bell, we have precedent for that, too.

Optimism is a duty.Though with the Storm King, the show at that point became more comfortable with doing something that dark, whereas Discord was introduced in season 2, when the didn't get quite as dark. Besides, The Storm King was not directly killed by the heroes.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayDiscord is an way too much of an outlier to make him an example of anything.
He is an immortal entity with powers way beyond any other creature in the setting, so rules with him come with too many caveats.
Yes, Discord escaped the stone sleep spell because he was exposed to ponies bickering, but after the sisters had already lost the elements.
Maybe keeping him isolated could've prevented him breaking out, or maybe it was just a matter of time as the seal was weakened.
The stone spell was a safe way to keep him from coming back way back when the sisters imprisoned him because they seem to also be immortal.
But we don't know if the same might hold with the Mane 6. Maybe the spell will last, maybe it will weaken the moment they stop being element holders.
Tartarus was established in the first season but by the fourth its shown to be escapable.
Vanishing to alternate dimensions came into the setting after Discord's story was already told. But Discord is an interdimensional being to begin with, it's unlikely that would've worked.
Vanishing him to the Moon probably wouldn't have either, because it wasn't even a permanent solution to Nightmare Moon in the first place.
I suspect that Discord would have escaped no matter where they put the statue. At least having it on display lets them check up on him and teach people about history.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayAnybody else seen Flufflepuff's ending? It came out a few hours ago and ties into the show finale. Kinda sad, if you ask me, but still.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.How?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Discord is shown to be able to disassemble and reassemble his body parts, so smashing doesn't help.
Discord can travel to other dimensions, so banishing doesn't help.
Hiding him away just means they don't notice when he escapes immediately, so that doesn't help.
Discord escaped after the elements were passed on from the princesses. It took about a year, but the princesses were alicorns, which may have made a difference.
For all Celestia knew, one of the Mane Six would die in an unexpected accident and Discord would instantly be released, take over, and become unstoppable. She had to consider the worst possible situation.
edit:How what?

I was referring to the statue of the Super Friends.
Optimism is a duty.Oh. I was under the impression that their punishment was done for the purpose of inducing torture. Which I disapprove of, but I don't see a practical escape risk.
I finally got around to watching Trivial Pursuit. I actually really liked the vibe of that episode. It's very laid back.

Kaze ni Nare!I did like this fanfic, Two Words, which addresses what Twi might try to do with the trio afterwards.
Here’s a big, weird take of mine. I don’t like Pinkie being ultra, effortlessly intelligent. I actually like her when she’s… not an idiot, but when she’s out of her depth.
The absolute worst thing this fandom has ever created, in my opinion, is this brand of "Fourth wall breaking, author avatar-ing Pinkie who's invincible and omniscient.". Where Pinkie is written as being able to know and do anything because it’s funny.
Comedy is subjective, but Pinkie being a savant who knows everything but can only articulate it when narratively or comedically appropriate is the death of comedy to me. It made me resent Pinkie for the longest time because it was so pervasive, and it wasn’t until season 4 that I fully embraced her for who she was.
Because to me the things that make Pinkie great have nothing to do with her intellect.
I’ve probably mentioned all this before, but it came to mind again when I was watching A Trivial Pursuit.
Kaze ni Nare!So did they ever confirm whether Pinkie was related to the Apple family or not?
They did not confirm or deny.
They visuals they have used strongly hint the two families are indeed distantly related. What's important is that the two families decided to become close. What was written in the records ultimately doesn't matter.
Skyrim was a mistake.
