Since it hasnt been mentioned, It's confirmed that the Unicron miniseries will be the end of the current continuity of IDW Transformers Comic, to be followed by a Reboot.

On one hand, I am not too fond of comics whose continuity becomes so huge as to be unfolloweable. On the other end, IDW's been really great since the end of Chaos when they finally moved past the "Autobot V Decepticons" story we've seen a billion times. and Part of me can't help but feel it's a call from Hasbro who wants them to return to that - especially since they more or less disposed of Megatron at this point

I suppose we'll see the reboot on its own at the end of the year.

I would have preferred a soft reboot, taking what they already have and into a new direction, but to be honest with the cancellation of Till All Are One and Lost Light's decline in quality I'm not really shedding too many tears, and I say that as someone who thinks More Than Meets The Eye is the best ongoing comic book series ever.

What I'm dreading, though, is that the reboot is full on GEEWUN with Autobots waging their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons with none of the depth, character or pathos that Scott, Barber and Roberts' work had going for it.

I still need to catch up on Optimus Prime before the end though.

I just want Megatron to show up again, maybe go out saving humans from unicron or something to actually show he changed thats not just shoving him in another universe so he can bang that optimus

One of the few good things about this reboot is that Anode is likely to be completely excised from continuity.

Actually now that I think about it, Trans Arcee will probably be non-canon too, which sucks since John Barber was doing work to undue Simon Furman's awful "driven insane by forced gender reassignment" backstory.

but I am gonna miss this continuity esp because we are most likely gonna go back to boring ol evil cons vs heroic bots on earth.

Also, it might be old news by now, but the most recent Optimus Prime issues have revealed that (SUPER-MEGA SPOILERS, DON'T READ THE SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ISSUES 17 AND 18 ALREADY!!!) Onyx Prime has been Shockwave the entire time!!!

So what are your hopes for the reboot?

Personally I'm hoping for a lighter approach. Something like Beast Wars and Transformers Animated.

I'm hoping we don't end up just re-threading the same "Autobot V Decepticon" conflict for too long.

I'm hoping for a more white and grey approach to the war in the reboot, we've seen multiple instances of the autobots being jerks and the cons as evil, it'd be interesting the see the autobots mostly good and the deceptions not as bad.

On a side note, can we also have the Fallen as a villain down the line?

I could role with this. Don't get me wrong, the Cons having hidden depths has been interesting, but it'd be nice to have my Autobots as heroes again.

...So what happened to Prowl? Last I heard after the events of Last Stand of the Wreckers he somehow helped out during a big incident and was basically allowed to live in peace on a planet as a dishwasher or something else weird.

Well, last time we saw him, he was blasting beastformers(?) alongside Garnak, Wheelie, and the aforementioned Stardrive.

...Then again, he was also kind of conspiring with Pyra Magna over...something.

Then again again, maybe the whole revelation that Shockwave's back and the huge implication that Optimus will be flung into the distant past to become The Arisen will probably cause Prowl to go "oh hell, I knew Optimus would get himself into a scrap load of trouble, but...geez" and ditch whatever plan he had.

I don't know, Prowl's a complicated dude.
