The Numbers War (Yu-Gi-Oh ZeXaL RP)

"Draw," said the unsmiling clown, adding another card to his hand. "I start my turn by activating my Quick-Play: Guard Penalty, targeting my Giant Rat. I then change him to Defense Mode, triggering Guard Penalty, which allows me to draw a card."

Carefully considering his options, Buddy shrugged. "I set a monster and another card face-down and end my turn."

Raine smiled ever-so-slightly. "Continue."

"Alright, that makes it my turn! I draw!"

Dave didn't look over the moon with his new card, but grouped it with his hand and continued nonetheless.

"First, I'll activate from my hand the Spell Card, Oni-Gami Combo! When I use this card, I can detach all material from an Xyz monster I control and that monster can attack twice this turn!" The two orbiting overlay units flew into the underside missile launchers of Tomahawk, splitting the one port into two.

"Next, I'll activate Hamstrat's special effect! By tributing a Token, I can summon another Mecha Phantom Beast from my grave, and I choose Coltwing (ATK 1600 -> 2000)! And of course, when Coltwing is Special Summoned, it creates two more Tokens with it!" The newest Phantom Beast Plane flew into view the Duel backed up by two ghostly planes in it's image.

"Got anything to say to that?"

The three Ghouls seemed to get a bit nervous about this but none interrupted Dave's move.

"Hah! You've really got nothing? Fine, I'll keep going then, and activate Coltwing's effect! By tributing two Tokens, I can destroy any card you control and banish it! Coltwing, rid us of that rock dragon forever!"

On orders from the machine, the two ghostly ships barreled at Kachi-Kochi Dragon. The first simply exploded, whilst the second imploded into nothing, taking the Dragon with it.

"Now it's time to enter my Battle Phase!" Dave shot wide-eyed as the number 42 displayed itself over the Duelist's left hand. "Tomahawk!" [ATK 0 -> 3400] "Destroy that Revival Golem then attack it's owner directly with the Secret Substream Salvo!" The missile ports on the underside of Number 42 seemed to almost grow in siaze as their scale became apparent. The left port fired first, a salvo of rockets targeted at the Golem.

As two Standby Phases had passed, two more counters were added onto Pumprincess, increasing it's aura and root growth ever so slightly. (Pumpkin Counters: 3)

As the attacks slammed home, Beryll screamed and got sent flying backwards, leaving the defined boundaries of the virtual reality area. The words "BERYLL ELIMINATED" appeared above the center of the dueling area, with an accompanying picture of the girl.

Aya cheered as her ally won.

"Way to go!"

"I special summon The Tricky by discarding Garbage Ogre from my hand."

The trickster magician appeared on his side of the field, doing a bow.

"And now, I activate my facedown XYZ Reborn, special summoning Tiras back, and giving it this as XYZ material."

Tiras reappeared, and XYZ Reborn attached itself to it, turning into a bright golden orb.

A sinister smile crept it's way across the professional duelist's face. "That's one of you dealt with..." he turned his head, shooting a cold glare at Shinobu. "You're next! Coltwing, Hamstrat, attack her directly!"

Shinobu braced for impact but still got launched, just as Beryl had before her. Once more, the announcement of Shinobu's elimination burned into the virtual reality space as she left it.

Raine made no objection but looked a tad uncomfortable.

"All that backrow amd nothing to help you? I guess you're not as smart as I thought you were." Dave placed three more backrow - the last three cards in his hand - into his Duel Disk. "I'll set three cards face down."

The smirk continued to rest haphazardly on his face as he glared at the remaining Ghoul and his voice took on an almost condescending tone. "It's your move."

Buddy looked around him, visibly frightened. Both of his allies were gone and two opponents had Numbers out. The fear overwhelmed the obsession with the Numbers and he slammed his hand down on his deck, forfeiting. He too was forcibly ejected from the arena. A large red banner proclaimed the trio victors in big yellow font. As it did, the virtual arena began to dissolve, leaving the trio by themselves and the remaining Ghouls fleeing.

Kody drew and sighed as he did so. Looking at his hand he grumbled. A bunch of cards he just couldn't use right now. He really wished he had another deck... "I... Set another card face-down and end my turn." This was it. He was toast. They'd replace him on the show and he'd be forgotten. Even his siblings were probably busy doing something else.

During his pity party, Kody failed to notice the Ghoul making a break for it, causing him to be named the victor of the duel.

"Well," Vlad said, with the duel having concluded. "Is as said in home. We will bury you." He looked over to where Kody was. It looked like his duel was up, so it would only be a matter of time before he ran away. "Be right back," he added, "I left my ram over there."

With that, he started quickly lumbering over towards Kody to once again enflail him.

Mac glared at the retreating ghouls, eyes hard. They flee from their judgement. Fools.

His expression softened as the holograms faded away, and he stretched, and looked around at the rag-tag group.

"That was......nervewracking, I guess."

"And don't fucking come back!" Dave glared out at where they had run to. Because of these jokers, he missed out on a Number card.
