I'm having some serious issues with my regular account, and I don't know if it's a bug or what.

The site tells me my username/password combination is wrong, even if I know it's right. I can log in temporarily if I change the password, but lo and behold, if I log in and use the exact same password I just changed it to, the site tells me the password is still wrong. Very strange.

Furthermore, even if I change the password for a single login and try to access features, many of them are barred completely, such as the forums and P Ms (hence why I'm using this account for this), with the unhelpful message of, "Sorry, we couldn't match your login information." I cleared the cookies on this site, but it still isn't working.

Oddly, this old account is working just fine. I'm not sure what to do.

Edit: Ah, just realized I forgot to give what my regular account is: Galatear.

The same thing is happening to me. It seems to be a problem with the account itself (lordmomo) since it happens both in my computer and my iPad. Any solution?

Delete the tvtropes cookies from your browser, then log in again.

I don't mean to be rude, but I mentioned I tried that already, and it had no effect. I tried it just now, to be safe, and the exact same thing happened: it won't let me login.

I don't think it's a problem with cookies. This account is not affected at all; I think it's a problem with the account itself, which worked until the day I started this topic. I cannot log into TV Tropes with my other account on another computer. It simply will not work unless I reset the password, just like this computer; even then, for a single login, in a limited capacity which does not allow me to check the forums, read my P Ms or edit.

Try a simple password. No punctuation or special characters.

My old one had no puncuation or special characters, but I changed it to another one without them, to be safe. The same result.

I'm not sure what causes the problem, but I think it may be that the system is having trouble verifying the email address you used. Unfortunately the only way around this I know of is to create a new account with a different email. Make sure that the email isn't being redirected or anything from the address you put in. The first two times I tried making an account I had this problem.

Yeah, I think you're right. Thanks, that definitely puts me on the right track. I'll see if I can try something through a different email.

Okay, I think I figured out some of the problem: when I get the email to confirm my account, it doesn't do whatever it is it's supposed to do when I click on the link. Maybe the link is borked? Or my email address doesn't display it correctly?
