> So, do y'all think there will be another Save Disney campaign in response to Chapek's recent actions that will get him booted from the company?
not likely
New theme music also a boxRegarding the elemental trailer: I can't believe how bland the character designs look. The main duo has great distinctive body shapes and I absolutely adore the effect of having their very stylized faces juxtaposed with their realistically rendered bodies, but the side characters are just various kinds of blobs with different textures.
I mean, initially the designs in Inside Out didn't strike confidence in me either, but those designs looked great in motion in the film. Perhaps it'll work better in context.
Ember and Wade are pretty good punny names.
It's been 3000 years…How would Bob Chapek be more insulated from consequence than Michael Eisner and Ron Miller?

I don't know how, but it sure seems to be the case.
SoundCloudHow bad is Chapek compared to Eisner and Miller?
I don't know if he's as bad as Eisner yet. When Eisner left the company he was giving interviews to people where he admitted he was spying on Roy Disney and saying things like "Disney in French is D'Eisner!" Tell me when he gets there, then we'll talk.
Ron Miller was kind of the wrong guy for the wrong time. Maybe he'll be like that, but we'll see...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Can I blame Chapek for WDW being so expensive, or is that a more structural problem?
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.At the very least, Chapek probably isn't David Zaslav levels of incompetent.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWhat did Ron Miller do that made him a bad person in charge of Disney? All I really know about him was that he interfered with production on The Fox And The Hound (mainly demanding they take out Chief's death).
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.He was not strong on leadership and the company became the victim of a corporate raiders,so he largly got the blame
New theme music also a boxThe trailer for Elemental looks kinda okay, which probably means it's gonna bomb because Pixar movies with bad trailers turn out to be good movies (Inside Out and Soul) and Pixar movies with good trailers turn out to be bad movies (The Good Dinosaur).
I don't know about that, but I do know that The Incredibles's trailer made me - mistakenly - think that the movie would be kinda cringe.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.It's crazy how bad Pixar's marketing department is. Most of their movies are great, and most of them had downright terrible trailers that horribly misrepresented what the movie was about.
I almost think that Disney is jealous of Pixar's success in the 3D animation space and is deliberately giving them bad trailers, but that's a silly theory that I don't actually believe.
I actually liked Pixar's trailers how they were like little mini-movies. They also largely averted Trailer Joke Decay.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them. The Good Dinosaur trailer was just the first half minute of the movie and a couple of random clips. I wouldn't call that a good trailer.
The Good Dinosaur is also basically impossible to advertise because it's a glorified screensaver of a movie. It's very pretty but it has no substance at all.
Not Three Laws compliant. As for what Ron Miller did, the thing is he tried to keep things pretty much as Walt had done it as Hollywood was changing around him. This led to some interesting stuff near the end of his tenure when he realized the company had to start doing new things, but ultimately it wasn't working out. That's why I said he was the wrong man at the wrong time.
Eisner decided to go into new areas, such as TV animation, and the rest you probably know...

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."So is Elemental going to be a romantic comedy or something? The trailer sure felt that way, at least. It would be a nice change of pace for the genre.
Optimism is a duty.probably? I heard from someone who went to D23 that the main two's relationship was inspired by his memories of his parents relationship so I'm guessing they are going for a romantic dynamic. I feel like that's kind of new territory for Pixar but it will be interesting to see.
Bide your time, and Hold out Hope — GANKUTSUOU Just because it's irrational, doesn't mean it's not real.I mean, that trailer combined with the visual pun of being "like water and fire" pretty much begs for such a movie, right?
Optimism is a duty. So, what did everyone think of the new special for Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse?
Also, does anyone know if there will be more episodes or a season 3 for Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse? Or is that show wrapped up now?
If it's done, it's sad seeing the near decade run of Rudish Mickey content end given with Ducktales 2017 over, it was the only non-preschool Mickey and Friends content we had left.
Even if it does end, at least there's still the Runaway Railway ride... is what I would say if the Disney parks weren't in a sorry state right now.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.
Which recent actions in particular? The guy seems to be pretty insulated from consequence historically speaking.
