I read some early Superman comics, and he really reminds me more of Batman for some reason. Like threatening bad guys and sneaking around.
That's because in the 30s and 40s, they weren't really sure what they wanted Superman to be, so they made him a crazy strong dirty cop.
My various fanfics.I dont think that's an apt statement.

"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des Ursinsbeing an artsy guy, i have a question for you guys: which artist do you think is best at drawing the Big Blue Boy Scout?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. That's like asking which one of your eyes is the favorite.
I am fond of Frank and Jamie. All Star was very Good looking
Casual talk is a debate you have to win.Joe Shuster, Curt Swan, Alex Ross, Dan Jurgens, Gary Frank, Frank Quietly, Ivan Reis to an extent.
Take your pick.
Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums? What would happen if all the different versions of Superman met each other in a room?
All the other ones would get sick of Silver Age Supes and ditch him to go to some bar, but he'd use his SUPER-OMNISCIENCE to follow them and ring up a huge tab, leaving the rest of them with the bill.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]They'd fight crime of course, silly. Though they'd probably ditch Electro-Superman/ Superman Red & Blue (both versions) by telling them they'd be at one place & never show up.
Seriously... how the hell did ANYONE think that Electo-Superman was ever a decent idea for frikkin' Superman? People crying foul at New 52 Superman don't know jack.
Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums? We'd get the Supremacy.
Casual talk is a debate you have to win.It was the 90's, and they were convinced that they had to do another "event" like the Superman's death and wedding in order to bring in readers. So a change of status quo for a bit was deemed a good choice.
(I have a soft spot for Energy Superman. I bought nearly all of his appearances as a kid.)
Old guy alert, look out! :P
Casual talk is a debate you have to win. Also Superman Red/Superman Blue was a tribute to a classic goofy Silver Age story, a treat for long-time fans. It's just that with decompression, what should have been oh say an annual or a three-part story turned into a massive event with crossovers.
The original Superman Red/Superman Blue story was that when Supes got split, he was still pretty much the same, and that the two's super intelligence lead to them making a Mary Suetopia. At least with this version, they are still at least visually similar to who Superman was.
The 90's one changed the costume(s), the powers, and IIRC, Red & Blue had their personalities changed (perhaps akin to Red Oni, Blue Oni, where Red was more impulsive while Blue was more passive). I'm saying while the idea is somewhat interesting for a new hero, it was a unbelievably stupid move, even for a gimmick (since I believe the whole debacle lasted for at least one whole year). But hell, they couldn't even salvage it for that Stange Vistor woman who got Electo-Superman's schtick.
Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums?Did he ever turn into Purple Superman, or did he just turn back to normal and I'm thinking of a different character?
My various fanfics.iirc; It didnt start out as Red and Blue; that was something added on to the Electric saga.
Casual talk is a debate you have to win.It went like this: Mullet Superman starts having his powers going wonky, turns into living energy while superpowered and completely mortal as Clark, gets a special containment suit like Captain Atom, turns into the blue Electro-Superman, has a few adventures, gets reduced to energy due to some stupid Cyborg-Superman plot, Electro-Supes manages to reconstitute himself as his "normal" blue self while part of his energy does the same only is red, the two meet up, they fight, they are then referred as Red & Blue (Blue is visually identical to the original Electro-Supes).
It ended with a rather boring mini-Crisis Crossover with Millenium Giants, one Superman is forced to go through the Earth to save it while the other disperses above the atmosphere, and the two reconstitute as the original, mullet-less Superman.
Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums?I have to ask, because I only know Superman Blue from JLA...what was Clark Kent doing during this period? Did the Daily Planet just not notice that one of their journalists turned blue because he was wearing glasses?
I think during that time he had a thing where he could just turn his powers off and be Clark Kent.
My various fanfics. He shazamed back and forth between Human and Electric forms.
Casual talk is a debate you have to win.And when he was Clark he was, for the first time, completely human.
Electric Superman sounds like a great idea... for someone other than Superman. It'd be great to have a heavy hitter with lightning/energy powers, and the design was actually pretty cool... or it would be, if we weren't supposed to accept that as the new Superman.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]Superman's power in general kinda evolved into EM Radiation Manipulation in later years; so him having those kind powers makes sense; All Star Superman style.

The Daemonite Meta Plot lost any interest when the first writer of Grifter got replaced by Liefeld (seriously, the first 8 or so issues of Grifter actually weren't that bad, but Liefeld stunk up the book to cancellation), and Voodoo (even overlooking how shockingly bad Ron Marz was with the sexuality) felt like a void, even when they changed writers (and main characters). Helspont never felt like he fit in any Superman book at all, hell he barely felt like he fit in the wider DCU in general. Is it too hard to ask that the Crime Syndicate just decimate all of those Daemonites when they try to enslave Earth again?
...I just realized they're pulling the same stunt on Superboy that they did with Voodoo. Except I actually somewhat liked Superboy.
