I'd also like an explanation as to why they won't use the Gosei Zords anymore.

There's a very simple explanation for all the plot holes.

kaboom Oh, no time for that. Monsters are attacking!

Now that I think about it why did they switch from the Zeo Powers to the Turbo Powers? Just goes to show this isn't a recen issue.

At this point anythin' stupid can be hand waved off as 'It's Power Rangers'. Oxygen on the moon? It's Power Rangers. Timeline doesn't make sense? It's Power Rangers. Too much Pink? Power Rangers.

The fun part is is that only fans made a decent explanation for why the Zeo powers weren't enough, with the fake Scorpion Rain video sub-series. That said, we saw an attempt to morph into Zeo during the Turbo movie and it failed when she entered the water. I doubt that means anything other than those specific powers don't work if interrupted.

But yeah, it's a lame plot hole. They clearly work, but at least Zordon did say the other ones were better? Which is theoretically true. Plus, Trey is gone, they had to go to another planet(maybe the Zeo powers actually don't work offplanet? At least at the time of writing this. Clearly they can as of Forever Red. On the other hand, maybe they were reconfigured to do so). Stupid plot hole. :|

really, if anything, the oddest part to their lack of explanation when it comes to the Gokaiger powers just coming out of nowhere is going to be what the fuckl do they do with Gosei Knight (or whatever the english version calls him, I forget) when Gokai Silver shows up?

We saw the ranger keys from the first episode. Gosei seems to always have those powers available, and just waited till the situation was high enough to unleash them. It does fit with how the Morphing Grid works. You can't get more power until the enemy gets stronger than you. Then it evens out. Albeit, they do seem overpowered with how quickly they slaughter the army. Was it like that in Gokaiger?

Yes. Most of the time at least against the mooks, the Gokaigers used high speed changes to show off pretty much every signature move of every previous team. The only time it differs largely from that formnula is when they were on an episode about unlocking the greater power of a team, which is usually when we'd get an entire episode themed around said previous team's story themes, followed by an epic team henshin complete with the theme song and henshin sequence of the previous sentai they had become.

As well as usually the debut of a new configuration for Gokai-Oh. (The Legendary Megazord)

Too bad they don't use any of the past Ranger themes in Super Megaforce >.>

Or maybe they will. It's only been 4 episodes. They even gave Noah an episode just to justify him being a superior swordsman. His Gokaiger counterpart is essentially Roronoa Zoro.

supposedly they did for the spd morph. it just was so low in volume compared to everything going on you couldnt really hear it without editing out all the other sound.

course, its personal bias but I always felt the sentai themes were more iconic while at least some of the power rangers themes were too married to the concept of making sure the original power rangers riff is there.

I'm still insanely curious what theyre gonna do to resolve the Gosei Knight/Gokai Silver quandary though. since Gosei Knight turning into the Comic Relief slash Ascended Fanboy Gokai Silver would be reaaaaaallly odd.

Though I suppose there is one clean way to do it. They could add Knight to a scene similar to in Gokaiger how Timefire, Abarekiller and Dragon Ranger do when they give the silver ranger his powers from beyond the grave

Did the Legendary Megazord's counterpart nearly destroy all the fleet(as in is that stock footage)? Cause that's ridiculous, to do it in the first few episodes. I feel it's upping the ante too quickly. It was cool, but yeah.

They did that in Gokaiger as well, but keep in mind, in Gokaiger, the main invasion happened years before the story started, which is when the Legend War occured and the Goseigers along with the Gorangers led the charge in sending all 34 Super Sentai to save the world.

So The Gokai-Oh wasnt destroying the main fleet in Gokaiger, just destroying a good deal of their advance fleet for an incoming second invasion wave that hadnt arrived yet.

Warz Gill and his troops didnt start Gokaiger off by sending in another fleet, they smartly sent in a small exploratory fleet to see what was up given the last time they sent a full invasion force they got wrecked.

In short, the first few eps of super megaforce kind of splice both footage of the Legend War sized fleet alongside the exploratory second invasion.

I'm finding myself more fascinated how shit Super Megaforce is than anything else at this point. I genuinely want to look away, but it's so bad that I'm intrigued at what can they fuck up next.

For instance, the shitty crossover setup. They barely did anything at all with it. It was weak.

Also, whoever writes the dialogue for the Rangers is one of the worst writers I've ever heard. Their bland acting makes it all the worse.

[up][up][up] Ah. That makes sense.

I do agree it would be nice if they used the other themes during some of the scenes. Bandai might not own all the rights to each of the Disney themes. Also, to be fair, they gotta splice a ton of stuff for this season, so maybe they already don't have the budget to buy those rights?

Yeah deep down I feel they completely screwed this up >.<. Though I also have a feelin' that the Finale will be worth it.

If they really wanted to adapt Gokaiger so it could be (remotely) coincide with PR's 20th then they should've adapted that first then have done Goseiger.

I hear that Dino Charge in 2015 will also be a hybridized adaptation incorporatin' some Gobuster into it.

I kind of wish they went with a name other than Dino Charge. Kind of cool somebody called it. Also, related, could you please name someone a Violet/Purple Ranger instead of giving us copout names? He's Geki Violet in Japan. Call him Violet/Purple Ranger. Same with Rhino Ranger being White. I only find it justified for the other 3, Bat, Shark, and Elephant. You can't have a second named Blue Ranger. It has to be a different name, of course. Aqua, for instance.

From what I saw of who'll show up on Ranger Wiki, Kyoru Violet seems to be missing. I think Kyoru Cyan is going to be adapted.

I'm still wondering how on earth they plan to incorporate Go-Busters into Kyoryuger given their stories have nothing in common.

(for those not in the know specifically, Go-Busters involves a sentient virus trying to invade the world, similar to Power Rangers RPM, and is set in a futuristic city. kyoryuger is set in more modern day and involves giant dinosaurs that use battery systems and theres a lot of brazillian dance and song)

(that, and given the Go-Buster enemy giants were named Megazords, its a sad thing that Saban is skipping the season that was essentially a giant homage to MMPR and beetleborgs)

It's probably just costumes and other powers. It might be at best "in name only". I mean, remember how they completely changed up to Gingamen to Lost Galaxy? It could be closer to that. Even Super Megaforce keeps the same general idea of Gokaiger, minus the pirate part mattering.

And we can't forget doing it in the most half assed way possible. sad

I will comment positively for one thing that they did in this which actually was even more funny to me than in Gokaiger version. When Gill gets hit. Gokaiger version, he legit starts bleeding, freaks the fuck out, and runs. Him getting barely even hurt here and freaking the fuck out is even more hilarious. [lol]

Actually, just to hit on again how much that crossover ticked me off for being stupid... "Hi, I'm the Samurai Red Ranger. Looks like you guys are in a bit of trouble. Here, this should help. Well, bye."

Just something about that made me face palm. I'm glad I saw the Gokaiger version, which included fun things like the Samurai Red chick demanding her powers back, them telling her to screw off since they're pirates, Captain Marvelous countering her samurai sword attacks by just pulling out a gun, a duel between the samurai & Blue, etc.

Top moment that seemed stupid to me? When the Blue Ranger decided to use the samurai sword thing just because it looked cool & wanted to give it a try.

personally, my fave moments of gokaiger were meeting the gaorangers and the carrangers. carrangers for the sheer wtf of that entire episode (the situation got so confused both the Gokaigers and the Zangyack stared in rapt confusion)

or how the Gaoranger episode showed just what big hearts of gold the Gokaigers had.

If there was one thing they did well adapting, it's him. Then again, it would be pretty hard to screw him up since he's pretty much exactly the same as the source material.

Also, I think I may have thought of an upside to them not referencing the pirate theme: No bad pirate quips from these rangers.
