Gah, I was hoping Travis would overtake them this week. At least “Youngblood” & “Without Me” are decent.

Peace is the only battle worth waging.

Mariah Carey is such a legend for that. Like...for real.

I'm not surprised that Ariana is still taking the top spot. Thank U, Next is a very good pop song that has a great message. Actually most of the songs (not including the Christmas songs) are pretty decent, in my opinion.

Still, this was overall a pretty bad year for pop music aside from Ariana's hits and some other exceptions. Even Bruno Mars, whom I'm a huge fan of, disappointed me with that collaboration "Wake Up in The Sky". I mean, he's still the best part of the song, but of all of the rappers he chose to work with...why those two? Just ugh.

I feel like I've been hearing "this was a bad year for pop music" for the last three or four years. When was the last "good" year for pop music?

[up][up]With pop being my favorite genre, I would definitely say the years 2010-2012. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Adele, Beyonce (although, not as popular as the previous three during this time), Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Drake (his best era), Daft Punk, Nicki Minaj (yes, her too), and Justin Timberlake all had some pretty great songs on the charts. Even the bad songs (some of them coming from the aforementioned) were still somewhat interesting and catchy.

To be fair, I thought 2016 and 2017 were decent years for pop music...just terrible years in general. 2015 was okay as well. 2013-2014 were just weird, though. This year was just a lot of filler pop with 90% of the popular music just being lifeless and boring.
