It was youtube's decision to remove comments on videos flagged for kids as I recall
New theme music also a boxYes, YouTube's policy is to not allow any comments under kids' videos, so that no inappropriate comments appear under them.
I looked into reuploads and reactions of the video...
Big mistake. I was right, it's not about the "criticisms" against the show. Apperantly, trying to send a good message attracts the worst kind of people.
It still sickens me that there are more dislikes than likes.
It ends proving the video’s own point. Racism isn’t rare and obscure, it’s common and screaming for attention.

2) The as is an example of how they are promoting minorities as a way of creating influence, basically creating an agenda to please SJW; and again, it is anvil to the head. "Ok we get it, we already know that we should be respecting others regardless of who they are, you need to repeat that again?
To be honest, if those people genuinely believe that being confronted on racism is an ultimatum that itself pushes them to defensively be more racist, then no - they don't know they should be respecting others and probably do need to hear more of it.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Sorry but that's just a complete lie. Racism is a big problem in a lot of latin american countries, including the one i live (brazil) in which had a long history of slavery and decimation of native tribes just like the US.
Also anyone who says an anti-racism ad made them more racist (or uses "sjw" unironically) already had problems, just saying.

"don't be a racist" must be so offensive to actual racists clearly
New theme music also a boxDid they stop watching during the cheesy in universe PSA and assume that was the short?
Like yeah that's an anvil because it's a homage to the hamfisted psas of the 80's, but the actual short, while blunt, is just "racism was and is still a thing, even if it doesn't effect to you personally".

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Yes, in the present era. The current brazilian president (jair bolsonaro) has made multiple racist statements towards black and native people, black people here are routinely harrassed and killed by the police just like the US, in bolivia there was a massive political upheaval and protests which included white supremacists, etc.
Maybe it's not something you personally experienced where you live but that doesn't mean it isn't real.

It is actually, otherwise people wouldn't get so offended by it. Depending on the person, they'll probably assume they're better than they actually are, and get offended when you (rightfully) point out that no, they are in fact not perfect.
Ignorance is bliss and what not; people assume because they can't see racism or it doesn't affect them personally, it must mean that it doesn't exist or people are "overreacting". Especially when the people who aren't affected by racism, are the usually the ones benefiting from it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.If you ask "What is the history of racism in [location larger than a football field that's been inhabited for longer than one lifetime]?", someone may say "There really isn't one." They may believe that, but you sure shouldn't.
To put a childish spin on the short's title, "He who denies it, supplies it."

I want to bring up something I think may be a bit controversial: Talking solves everything aesops. Is that a bad lesson for kids?
Find the Light in the DarkIt's important to remember that the entire series was conceived and plotted out before it even aired. Rose Quartz being Pink Diamond was planned from the very start, and it's easy to extrapolate from that that the other Diamonds being redeemed was also planned from the very start. The series' big twists were planned since when it started, when Obama was president.
8 years ago, "everyone is capable of redemption and can be convinced to be a better person" would not have been a controversial message whatsoever. It's only with the massive political upheaval that has happened in the last 4 years that that moral sounds a tad naive.
I have way more of a problem with Steven and his behavior in Future than I do with that.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Talking mostly certainly did not "solve everything". The Crystal Gems still had to resort to force (though not irreparable violence) quite often, even just a means to survive long enough to communicate.
The show usually contrived things so the communication part was the climax and physical confrontation the buildup. Other shows quite often do the opposite (i.e. the narrative contrives negotiation to fail, thus justifying force or violence) without people concluding the lesson is "force solves everything".

> Talking solves everything aesops. Is that a bad lesson for kids?
Its not bad lesson for kids to talk about their problems instead of bottling them up so it contributes to a decline in their mental health, that's my take away from it
New theme music also a boxPretty much this.
Also, the consequence of telling kids that one should resort to force instead is far greater? Looking back on my childhood, there were a couple of situations where trying to negotiate with a bully didn't solve anything (they were either stubborn or took it as a chance to just get in another blow), but going in full throttle all arms swinging for a fight would've gotten my face smashed into the pavement so much harder. Followed by being punished by the adults around (even if they wouldn't do anything if I didn't fight back at all.) At least more kids being encouraged to try to settle things peacefully likely means less bullies overall even if they won't all go away.

Found this while browsing YouTube, forgot how depressed this song made me feel.
Still need to read or watch Utena at some point.
Here's another PSA.
Cool,what's it about?
New theme music also a boxPearl is in a classroom, where she's talking about black historical figures, and doesn't like how history talks about the accomplishments of only white people.
Turning off the comments of that video was the smartest thing they ever did.
