Because this desperately needs its own thread.

Who has played it? Any fan stories anyone has particularly enjoyed?

I'm playing through The Coming of the Dark right now.

I only played the standard ones, and a few fan modules. I can't remember them though.

Aw. What about Nifflas' modules, then? I'm torn between whether I prefer best A Strange Dream (relaxing and atmospheric), An Underwater Adventure (Mind Screw), or Skyflower (abstract and slightly pretentious).

I think I've found the secrets in A Strange Dream and Skyflower, but I haven't found anything in An Underwater Adventure yet, which seems very strange...

Hahaha uh, thread necromancing here (and this is what, my first real post in the Tv Tropes forum? What a way to make an impression), but I was looking to see if there was a discussion on this game somewhere here that I could lurk on and then I found this one but it only had three posts and that made me sad.

anyway

I've only had Knytt Stories for a few weeks and have just played a handful of the fan levels, buuut I think I'll make a little list of the ones I like so far:

  • Eurydice, I Dreamed of the Sky, Petals of a Dying Flower, and My Loving Hadron Collider, all by Talps
  • A Walk at Night by Quincent Cartographer, for being a nice environmental with well done custom-made stuff
  • It Waits by Eric Colossal for being really creepy
  • White City by HeadGrinder, which has a very beautiful and unique look to it
  • Badly Built Level by HeadGrinder, which doesn't but is pretty funny
  • Another Journey by Imaddo, which was a simple story but kinda stuck out to me from the other simple stories
  • .......Aaaaaand of course, the all-time classic Don't Eat the Mushroom.

Pfft. I guess I'll say I also loved Nifflas' original levels ('cept maybe perhaps not Gustav's Daughter.....I dunno). The Machine and A Strange Dream were fun to explore, and An Underwater Adventure took me by surprise by taking that sudden eerie turn (I was playing at night, dangit!). The bonus endings for those were also hilarious.

Oh. Um. That was kinda long. I'll just retreat into the shadows now >.>

Welcome! Noooooooo, don't go into the shadows, come back! ;_;

I've played only a few of those - It Waits was incredible (though frankly some of the jumping segments were so annoying they pulled me out of the story >:/ ), and despite it's simplicity, I really enjoyed A Walk at Night. Very relaxing. :)

How do you get the bonus ending for An Underwater Adventure? I've tried doing things like entering the real code before actually learning it, but it hasn't worked and I'm not sure where else the opportunity to go off-track is even given...

The only one I have is Knytt Underground for PS 3 / PS Vita. And from what I've played, it's pretty good.
