Social worker

To be a social worker (who isn't fired in a day) you kinda need to tolerate the people you work with.

Waller tolerates supervillains that work for her. She just doesn't take any of their shit...and murders them if they get too uppity...not something a social worker wants to get into the habit of.

I'd be surprised if Wallers wasn't toned down for this comic the same way the villains have been toned down.

I can imagine her as a Tyrant Takes the Helm principal at the school. Recruiting the "villain" kids as hall monitor and such-like as a constructive use of their time / community service type of thing.

If they get out of line, she merely threatens to expel them.

I'm sure these strips will hold up much better reading them all at once, but for now, this feels painfully slow.

I wonder how all the other Golden Age characters are going to be handled. We haven't see Jay Garrick in this comic yet, have we?

So far. The zoom in on the hands suggests that that's important, either because of the soot on them (indicating that Kilowogg really did just save Jonn) or the reduced number of fingers. Then, there's that stream of power going upwards from the ring in the last panel...

Kilowogg is friendly and the kids are still freaked. Still not certain what the focus on the hands was for...

I think his hands are burned from the fire.

And a touching moment as Hal realizes just how close he came to losing a friend.

D'awww...

...But I'm still waiting for Kilowog to say "poozer." I mean, maybe that's not an appropriate word to be using around children, but still.
