Hey, that was the least mean-spirited episode so far- only the death of the bus driver was sad (and that's assuming he died in space, sure its eyes froze off but hey, alien life-form, who knows how that affects it right?) We actually got to see the Warriors use their powers! Not that they were very effective, but it was a nice change from their typical cynicism and cowardice. I'm glad not every episode is going to be like that.

You know, the big problem I'm seeing with this show is that it's not really doing anything with that so called "maturity". There's nothing funny besides 9000% Beth that couldn't have been put on Adventure Time.

This is a signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Did it perhaps occur to you that, maybe, this show wasn't created just to be "more mature", and that it never got on TV because, you know, no television network would pick this show up? Can't Pendleton Ward just create a show without people saying "could have been on Adventure Time"?

My love of cynicism, darkness and downer endings is inversely proportionate to T Vtropes hatred of such, so I love that this series is using its freedom to be just a little meaner than Adventure Time.

It's just something about my sense of humour and slight disregard for fellow humans.

Do you know how many people claim to have a general disdain for all humanity in casual conversation?

Almost everybody, at least once.

Do you know how many are making it up out of nowhere to sound cool? All of them, every time.

w o w...

they...um...did something interesting with the Beth/Chris tension? I think?

Yeah, this show has some great, quotable jokes and the art's pretty decent but...I don't really know what else to say? I just wished they'd do more with the characters, try to be more subversive or something.

"And you are...." "The girl."

YES. You guys are aware of that; expand on it! Make Beth more than just mildly cute! Give Chris personality! Wallow and Danny's eyebrows are the most promising characters on this show.

It's cute, but I think it lacks the unexpected realism and relatable characters that makes Adventure Time so great.

I'm not feeling episode 5 - mainly because it is just the feeling of being one big joke about asses...

Seriously, if this show wants to be as memorable or watchable as Adventure Time, there needs to be more focus on utilization of unexpected realism and relatable characters than there is now. I agree with whomever said this tenfold.

Real shame - I don't want Adventure Time to be the only thing I like from the creators of said show if they're going to make one than one thing! That goes for any other example (that honestly doesn't fit here otherwise, either!).

EDIT: Okay - I watch it through; I find it alright, but it just shows that this show is kind of missing that spark that makes Adventure Time stand out so easily IMHO... Or am I just jaded, asking too much, and should turn off my brain a little ?

[up] Exactly. But that doesn't mean you stoop to below acceptable standards, either! Especially if you want to make the internet a less suckier place for anything entertaining than most TV or Movies as of late (sans the actually good/entertaining fare)...

Who knows. Maybe I need to read the comic to enjoy it the most. Maybe they're suffering from the 5-minute runtime. Whatever it is, this show isn't hooking me the same way as Adventuretime.

[up] Same as me; it's decent to awesome enough on its own (for me, maybe), but doesn't have the hooking power you speak of, sadly...

The ass jokes bored me but I was actually glad that the heroes managed to save the day.

Overall I wouldn't even watch the series except for the fact that they keep posting the links on this thread and I'm too curious not to check them. tongue
