Real damage had already happened long before that point. He basically established that the president can do whatever they want if Congress won't call them on it. And now there's more or less confirmation that a sitting president can't be tried for crimes while in office and so on.

The coup attempt was bad but it was kinda like the cherry on top.

And it doesn't even need to be all of congress. It just needs to be enough of their own party that cares more about holding on to power than about any sort of moral or principle.

Let's also not forget the photo op in front of a church, or telling the troops at the inaugural ball he'd gladly send them back into Iraq for more oil, or calling literal murderous neo-Nazis "very fine people" and telling them to "stand by"...

In a more positive and lighthearted note, the new Pokemon title was announced!

Man, can't believe it has been already three years since the last main title came out. COVID is like the Stand Made in Heaven, it just clocks up time so damn fast.

New Pokemon? Will the fans be happy with this one?

Anywho, for a while, I'd been thinking about how I'd change Pokemon type matchups to better balance the types. I've narrowed it down to:

10 matchup changes (in no particular order):

• Ghost no longer resist Bug
• Ghost resist Steel
• Grass resist Fairy
• Ground weak to Bug
• Ice resist Grass
• Ice resist Fairy
• Ice resist Poison
• Normal weak to Poison
• Steel weak to Electric
• Water weak to Poison

Two perks:

• Bug immune to damaging entry hazards
• Psychic immune to Confused status

And could make a logical or gameplay argument for all of them. Though I've been wondering for a while if Ice should resist Electric instead of Poison. And having Ground be weak to Bug was the last addition to that list, but I'm wondering if it should be offset by having Ground resist Fire, which I forgot it didn't.

Now that I've thought about it more, I'm changing "Ice resist Poison" to "Ice resist Electric". There's more scientific grounding for it.

Every main Pokemon game is the same, so there's no reason to be angry or happy about new ones being announced.

You know, during this tragic events, the one thing that heartens me, is the solidarity the international community has shown Ukraine. Really good stuff.

Especially proud of how my countrymen opened their hearts and homes to our neighbors, showing support and hospitality to the refuges from our brethren nation. We actually stepped up to the occasion for once.

Unfortunately, there's footage that Ukraine and the EU have not shown that same kindness to African people in the Ukraine.

I hate to be a downer, but the double-standard makes it even more saddening for me.

This Russian Invasion Arc is utterly baffling.

Specifically, the utter incompetence displayed by the Russian army is just mind-boggling.

Like, look, I'm a web-novelist serializing an Alternate History fiction.

If I made the enemy factions pull of stupidity and incompetency that the Russian army displays right now, the readers will call me out and say just how unrealistic this all is.

I mean, Jesus. I thought Russia was the second strongest nation on earth in terms of military might.

With all that said, Ukraine is-as incredibly valiant and frighteningly competent their resistance is- still in a perilous situation and needs all the help it can get.

And my God, America is pulling a much smaller scale of the Lend-lease Plan during the WW 2 on Ukraine.

So I was reading another series by the only Korean writer I know that actually seems to like Japan and it seems like he holds China in massive contempt instead. I was a bit confused for a moment but then I remembered North Korea exists and was like "Oh yeah. That makes sense."

Yeah, nowadays most Koreans probably hate China more than Japan.

Anti-China sentiment in Korea might be at its all time high post Korean War, and coincidentally enough that sentiment started to skyrocket since Xi jinping took office. I wonder what happened (/sarcasm).

Tangentially related, but about a week ago I've tested positive with COVID so I got myself self-quarantined. Today I checked myself using PCR and oh yeah, it was negative. Funnily enough, for past few weeks I've been pretty depressed so I kept telling myself to be positive.

Clearly God has a twisted sense of humor.

I've gotten, like all the sane people, vaccinated three times (Moderna) and it sure paid off. Vaccines FTW, anti-vaxxers WTF.

Brothers and sisters are natural enemies.

Like Koreans and Japanese.

Or Koreans and Chinese.

Or Koreans and other Koreans.

Damn Koreans, they ruined Korea!

Seriously tho, not surprised, China not been endearing itself to it's neighbors in recent years.

It makes sense, I suppose. Korea and Japan have, uh, history together but at least they have similar politics and linked economies. Seems like it would help smooth things over at least a little as time passes.

President Pooh though? No one likes that guy.

Good thing it was a false positive rather than a false negative.

China under Hu Jintao, president before Pooh, was much nicer at least in terms of international relations.

During that time, the worst people said about China, at least in Korea, were poor quality of Chinese products and public sanitation.

Now, though, China is so aggressive and greedy it honestly feels like the Asian Nazi. And honestly, if Russia invading Ukraine didn't spark such an international outrage I feel that China would have tried invading Taiwan.

Also, I explained my circumstances very badly, it seems. I DID get tested positive and I got into a government mandated (but very laxly enforced due to shortage of manpower) for a week.

It's just that now my body must have recovered or something because PCR is showing negative.

Are you sure that it wasn't a false positive?

I'm not a medical expert so I can't tell. I'd prefer if that was the case though.

As some of you have already heard/seen already, in the 94th Academy Awards show Will Smith slapped Chris Rock over the latter's comment about Jada Smith.

And that's about as dry and objective as I can describe it.

In terms of legality, Smith is clearly at the fault. Morally, though...apparently people can't decide if Chris Rock deserved it or not.

If nothing else, I can see this event taking over the internet for at least a couple of days, perhaps even a week.

Imagine assaulting a person on live television, the host of the show, and then instead of being kicked out of the venue and arrested you just go back to your seat the show continues. Shocking, to say the least.

Smith thinks he can do whatever he wants because he's rich and famous. I hope Chris Rock sues him for all he's worth.

Disgusting display to say the least. Hollywood is a cesspool and Oscars are a joke.

One thing I'm pleased with is that people weren't fooled into thinking sucker punching (or, er slapping) a guy smaller than himself makes Smith a badass, and have been roasting him relentlessly since yesterday. As he deserves.

Chris Rock on his part, showed an impressive amount of restraint, class, and decorum. Kudos to him.

Honestly, Rock is such a degenerate scumbag that I can't feel slightest bit of sympathy towards him. Rock IS a victim, and I believe that Smith should had been prosecuted on the charge of assault and battery, but even then he feels like an Asshole Victim.

Well, I have been continuously writing and today I uploaded my 300th chapter.

Holy shit, it has been exahausting.

And considering that now I will be covering the Great Depression arc and the final arc, World War II, it's only gonna get even worse....
