I finally watched the episode. It was a very good final episode. I am happy Oliver and Felicity got their happy ending. Because even when I found myself disliking Felicity, their chemistry was always great. Diggle is also Green Lantern. Cool.

Maybe I'm a little late, but now that the series officially is done, I am curious to hear how you would rank every season. I'll go first:

1. Season 5. Yeah, it might have had some flaws, but I just can't stop loving it. Mostly, off course, due to Adrian Chase. Guy is my favorite villain from the Arrowverse period. Great twist, solid motivation, splendid performance and just.....100% utter batshit evil. It's really a sight to behold, just how much time, effort and sheer malice the guy put into his plan, solely to, as he puts it, "make Oliver wish he was dead". Other than that, the fact that this seaosn basically rescued the series after 2 seasons of suckiness also gives it a bonus from me.

2. Season 2. This was really when the series first started to shine. Season 1 was a decent start, but Season 2 took it to a whole nother level. One big reason off course was Manu Bennett's Slade, both in the main story, as well as in the flashbacks. Oliver's arc was also really engaging, plus it gave us Caity Lotz as Sara smile

3. Season 8. Despite it's short length, this season brought everything good Arrow was about back. A really worthy conclusion! And not much else to say what hasn't already been said ;)

4. Season 1. Certainly had a lot of Early-Installment Weirdness, but it laid the groundwork for the series and is still extremely fun to rewatch. Especially the flashbacks, those were still the best back then.

5. Season 7. The first half of Season 7 was great. Oliver in prison was one of the most engaging arcs of the series. The second half, while not bad left a lot to be desired, retroactively. Emiko just wasn't he best villain and it didn't bring anything new to the table. Well, except for the Flash Forward scenes off course, they were fun.

6. Season 6. Now, I don't hate the season as much as most do, there were some good parts in it, like the Deathstroke 2-parter, but yeah, there were some glaring problems. The whole Team Arrow civil war, Black Siren's less then stellar redemption arc, the very unimpressive villains...a huge step down from Season 5.

7. Season 4. It's funny, back then I even liked it at first, compared to Season 3. But no, this was a huge piece of crap. Laurel's fridging almost killed the entire series, the fighting choreography was absolutely atrocious, the magical theme just didn't fit the series at all, and the soap opera'ish elements were just too much. Thankfully, Neal McDonough's character was put to much better use in Legends of Tomorrow.

8. Season 3. God, this season.....the flashbacks were the worst, Ra's was absolutely boring, Malcolm started being obnoxious, Sara's unnecessary death....it's just way too much to list. Never gonna watch this season again. At least it gave us Ray Palmer....

My ranking: (Note Season 6 is the only one I have not seen)

1) Season 2- Mainly because of Deathstroke. My favorite Arrowverse villain. Plus it's the season that got me hooked.

2) Season 5- The only one that could rival 2.

3) Season 8- Great ending.

4) Season 1- Not the best, but it's the one that started it all. Plus it had the best flashbacks.

5) Season 7- Mainly for the flash forwards, and the prison arc.

6) Season 4- I really dislike this season. The only reason it's not at the bottom is the Constantine episode.

7) Season 3- What a waste of my favorite Batman villain. Beyond that the unnecessary death of Sara and a waste of Ray Palmer. Both thankfully were handled better in Legends.

I'd need to do a rewatch before I felt comfortable ranking seasons (I binge watched the first three seasons, then watched the last five as they aired, so that can affect how I view them).

However, I like Season 3 a lot more than most people seem to. A step down from Season 2, yes, and probably below 1, 5, and 8 as well. But it's still much better than Season 4, in my opinion, and any season is leagues better than Season 6, the show's absolute nadir.

Season 3 is where I first came in. I don't hate it as much as most due to that. I do need to go back and watch Seasons 1 and 2 however.

Season 3, I think, is much better than Season 4. Ra's is a better enemy than Damien Darhk (Darhk only becomes good in Legends) and there are a lot of storylines that work really well — the team having to handle Brick while Oliver is away, "The Climb," and so on. It just kind of falls apart in the end.

Oh and freakin' Malcolm Merlyn. That was the other annoying thing — he brainwashed his own daughter to kill Sara and they end up rewarding him. It's not until Season 5 that he's actually punished.

Season 4 fails a lot in terms of the Oliver/Felicity relationship, which...fails spectacularly in ways the writers clearly didn't understand. Also, Felicity gets paralyzed for a hot second and then gets cured and nothing comes from it. And then there was the whole "Someone's gonna die! Who could it be!" trope and, I mean, fuck that shit. Killing Laurel was terrible, because it was clear they did it because they had no idea what to do with the character. (Sure, Earth-2 Laurel is awesome and allowed Katie Cassidy to do a lot more, but that doesn't excuse the killing of Earth-1 Laurel.)

I thought Damien Darhk, as a character, was great in Arrow Season 4. Just a terrifically fun bad guy, who reveled in all the little pleasures being a James Bond style villain allows. It's the plot built around him that was a mess.

The main issues were: 1) There was no connection or personal element to Oliver vs. Damien like there had been with past Big Bads; he was just a bad guy Oliver needed to fight. 2) They had him square off with the heroes too soon and too often. They made it clearly he could easily kill all of them, and wanted to kill all of them, but the fights always had to end inconclusively, making them tiring and repetitive. 3) They actually beat Damien about two-thirds of the way through the season, only to have him escape from prison and come back for the climax. But that means the big climax of the season can't help but feel like a retread.

Added onto Season 4's other story problems (horrible Olicity drama, the worst flashback storyline by far, and starting the season with a "someone's gonna die" flashforward despite having no plan for how that would happen) and the season became very tiring most of the time. I'm so glad the next season proved to be a bounce back, and that Damien Darhk got some more fun stories to be a part of over on Legends.

I feel like the way Legends did Darhk was based off the way he was acting in the first part of the Legends prequel Crossover on The Flash.

He did seem more jovial there. And it would explain his issues with Speedsters when Wally bails out Ray later on.

I mean, Damien Darhk was always jovial. That's kind of his thing.

One of my favorite moments of his is when Diggle pulls off a big escape by blasting out the back of a truck on a motorcycle, with his infant daughter in tow, and even though this is a setback for Damien, he still takes a moment to chuckle and go, "Well, that was a fun bit of business!"

Or there's when he tells Oliver I Lied about sparing his loved ones: he points both his thumbs at himself and says, "Bad guy, remember?"

For me, Arrow Season 3 is simply okay and I can give it pass because there are some genuinely great moments in it. It's just that Oliver Queen was the worst.

On the other hand, Arrow Season 4 is by far and away one of the worst seasons of television I have ever watched. I think aside from killing off Laurel and the stupidity of OOC Olicity, the show trying to justify Oliver keeping William a secret from Felicity and Diggle (not to mention Thea being completely OOC and supporting the decision) is the dumbest and most unnecessary subplot the entire Arrowverse ever did.

The best seasons overall are 2, 5, 8, 7, and 1. I really love the later seasons because of Mia and William, though. Best thing to come from Olicity.

Yeah, it's interesting: William was terrible when he was a young kid (calling back to all those "secret love child" plotlines that shows do when they run out of ideas and also how bad kid actors can be), but William in the flashfowards is great. The episode where he comes out as gay to Oliver because he never got a chance to before Oliver died was just amazing (and apparently something the actor himself requested).

If Green Arrow and the Canaries gets made (and it looks like it will), I hope they get William to take over as Overwatch.

[up]Oh gosh, yes. Adult William is everything I loved about Oliver and Felicity's characters meshed together (even though William isn't Felicity's biological son) and I don't think Mia's story would work without him. They're great foils to each other.

Even though it makes me feel kinda sad about William's actual mom, Samatha.

She was unceremonously killed off in Season 5/6 and nobody even seems to remember her, not even William, who now consistently refers to Felicity as his mother.

Does he refer to Felicity as his mother? I only ever remember him calling her "Felicity." And he keeps his last name, rather than go by "Queen."

As an adult he repeadetly referred to her as his mom or to her and Oliver as his parents.

Yeah Season 2 and 5 are great, interestingly for very different reasons. Both of them have a great villain, but one is a great personal enemy while the other is just a genuinely entertaining one. Season 2 has stronger cast chemistry and great team dynamics, while Season 5 just has really strong development for Oliver.

I personally think that Season 5 is the best season overall simply because of stronger and more exciting writing, but Season 2 has elements that are just classic Arrow: Sara, Laurel, Oliver and Felicity, Deathstroke, and the Original Team Arrow just being great.

I will say that I like the later seasons more than most people do, though, mostly for William and Mia.

I don't really have a preference on seasons. But I guess 2 is my favorite. Though four is my least favorite.
