Ah. Okay, I think I get you now. Sorry about that. That said, that Sonic interests me the least because he's basically regular Sonic. Same basic design and everything. Whereas other proto-Sonics like the rabbit or Mr.Needlemouse are actually visually distinct. And speaking of which...

Track and Field, Part 2 (Chapter 30) is up. Not much happens other than Sally, Nicole, and the others figuring out a gameplan and several new badguys being introduced. Speaking of which, we've finally got Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts thrown into the mix as well as Thunderbolt from the Archive reboot, but the real oddball is probably Sir Fuzzy Logik from Doctor Robotniks Mean Bean Machine. That game had a number of cool bots that, outside of the pilot for Adventures, (where they all came from,) have never seen the light of day since, but I'm going to be bringing in each and every one of them. So there's that.

The Archie comics made Madonna a GUN agent expy of Topaz from Sonic X. Quite a change from 'Sonic's answer to Mario's Pauline' XD

Ah. That's a thought, but I'm not sure if that's where I want to take her. I don't want her to be a Damsel in Distress, I know that. But having her just be some Gun Agent is... I don't know, it'd feel like I'd be creating a whole new character and just slapping the name on—

Possibily. The problem with the OVA is that it's so short compared to most other incarnations of the character that there isn't much I can take from it, and what I can is... lacking. I might include Sara and the Owl scientist as reoccuring minor characters, but unless I get another flash of brilliance like with Chris or Chirps, that might be all they'll be. I guess I could have the Owl work for Gun as a Federation immigrant, but as for Sara, I don't really know what to do with her.

An interesting thing about Sera is that she's a cat girl, since it means she isn't fully human or fully animal. (I also wonder who her mom was if she turned out like that XD)

Given her design she could maybe be a fictional character in-universe like the Archie comics were going to do with Sonicman from '06 being the leader of a Super Sentai type show.

Chapter 31 is up. Not much to say other than Porker's got a new fancy pair of gloves that basically makes him Magneto. In other words, he's MASTER OF MAGNET got magnetism powers. I was a bit hesitant to give him that powerset because, given the setting, it might have made him just a mite overpowered, but I figured out ways to keep things balanced. So there we are. And other characters are going to have similar upgrades in the future.

The Deadly Six already have it, so it's nothing new :p

... Then again, it'd probably need to be weaker than the Deadly Six's version...

I love this type of fanfic that goes in deep about Sonic's relation to Fleetway Super Sonic, they're so fun to read.

Chapter 32 (Track and Field, Part 4,) is up. This Chapter in a nutshell: FIGHTY FIGHTY FIGHTY TIME, BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD! (Don't ask me where I got that from; even I can't remember where I got that from. I know I got it from somewhere...) Yes, this Chapter is the big fight sequence of the story-arc, and while it doesn't end it, it still helps get things to that point. Also, Bunnie gets her full arsenal of abilities - flight, energy blasts, all that jazz — while Johnny gets an upgrade. His new mace allows him to fly, shoot energy blasts, and project a grey item-box shield protective force-field, and while Johnny doesn't technically have superstrength, his mace hits hard enough that he might as well have.

Other than that, Antoine's gotta make a hell of a choice. I kinda feel bad for putting him in that situation, but what can you do?

Track and Field Part 5 (Ch.33,) is up. This brings this arc to a close. The biggest things to happen are with Antoine's Dad, (let's just say he doesn't quite make it,) and with Antoine and Bunny. To make a long story short, screw Will They or Won't They?, they fucking will! That said, I made sure not to push things too far along just yet, but it should still be pretty obvious which way things are heading.

Oh, and Eggman mentions Project Thorndyke. Foreshadowing: Your guide to quality literature.

Will They or Won't They? is such an overused trope that I applaud you for foregoing it completely.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Chapter 34 (Fireside Chat) is up, and it's for all intents and purposes a nice little Breather Episode before things get busy again in the next Chapter. Just a lot of talking, reminiscing, reflecting, and drinking booze while setting up and foreshadowing things to come. (Including the odd SA 2 reference. Why yes, I have planned everything in advance, why do you ask?) Manic and Chirps get the brunt of the focus here, but everyone else gets a little something too. And again, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Happy New Years! Part 1 of Remembrance (Chapter 35) is up, and while this Chapter may just be starting things up, the next one is going to be a doozy. Johnny's past has been built up to for a while now, but here is where it's all finally going to come out. And we'll also get some tidbits about Sticks to boot.

Also, I finally introduced an OC, buuuuuut it's not that big a deal. All Clarence is is a minor relative of Johnny's I introduced to move the story forward. He'll tie in a bit to Johnny's past in the next Chapter, but that's it. After this arc, he's probably never gonna be seen again. This fic is about established characters, and any OC's are going to be nothing more than bit players to fill in the holes. So there's that.
