Didn't get to see much of him since I didn't focus on his dialogue at the time so...
You can't kill art. It's basically a case of idiot programming. G0-T0 was broken by the fact that its two primary directives conflicted with each other. It couldn't find a way to rebuild the Republic without breaking some of the Republic's own laws. So it decided the first directive was the only one that mattered.
The result is a ruthless utilitarian droid willing to do all sorts of shady shit if it means "saving" the Republic.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI remember not liking that droid a lot. I could just be projecting after the fact, but it felt like it had some of Avellone's worst writing traits, more low key than some other examples, but still there.

It's hard to tell since Kreia is also in the game, and she's also really bad on that front.
Disgusted, but not surprisedExpositions can be a bitch to handle in terms of explaining your themes, isn't i?
You can't kill art.Even Avellone regretted how he went too far in some places in KOTOR 2.
But on G0-T0 I just really love his concept, voice, and appearance.
Like an accountant droid who suffered a logical error in trying to preserve the republic legally, ended up becoming a ruthless crime lord that somehow benefits the republic.
And hey, unlike all the other party members, he actually pays the Exile.
There's something hilarious about how G0-T0 just made his gangster persona off of cliche holos in universe, and it actually worked.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Admittedly that part was hilarious and his voice was amazing.
Almost every character that Daran Norris plays is absolute gold.
You can't kill art.I lvoed HK scrapping G0-T0.

Those Halo titles they worked on IIRC used the exact same game engine as the original with the only changes being graphical updates (higher-poly models, higher-res textures, improved lighting, etc) and a new soundtrack. Halo 2 Anniversary got remastered cutscenes but those were outsourced to Blur Studios.
Not saying there's no hope of a new combat system and reimagined levels and whatnot but based on their portfolio I think it's quite possible that we're just gonna get a graphics and art design upgrade and some new music.
You're right but I'd argue that this isn't inherently a bad thing.
The greater the ambition the greater the chance of things messing up, I suspect that's why the previous dev's crashed and burnt.
I wouldn't mind a better combat system or level design but even just improving the graphics and UI would do wonders for usability.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnOh, I don't disagree, I'm just noting that we should temper our expectations. Up until now we've been sold on it as a "remake" which sets a fairly high bar, compared to a "remaster" where you can safely expect "oh so it's basically exactly the same but looks way better and runs on modern systems", and I expect that some people who aren't following things that closely or aren't familiar with the devs' previous work might wind up with their expectations set way too high as a result.

I'd just be happy with a version I don't have to kludge to get working on my PC.
Gone to Faerie, no forwarding address. (AO3)I'd settle for it just being the original game, with all the cut content re-added and Species Choice for main character (Because why be a human in Star Wars if given a choice?).
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. To be frank, the biggest issue I had with the Halo remakes was that it was *too* faithful to the originals to a fault.
The game runs both the old and the new maps at the exact same time with the maps mirroring each other. The player can swap seamlessly between the old and the new versions with a button press which essentially just swaps which character model the player is viewing out of.
But because both maps are running at once and have to mirror each other; they have to map to each other 1-1 perfectly. No deviations at all. So things could get fancy textures and better lighting but the models pretty much exactly had to mirror the old ones. So you still had trees that were big tear drop shaped low poly blocks that look out of place with the highly textured and well-lit remaster.
Being able to swap seamlessly between both is cute and being able to render both the old and new at the same time is impressive, but I don't think it really justifies when the game could have gotten a lot more love and attention in the details.
Hi I saw on the KOTOR 1 videogame page. The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard, It discusses the AI but under that it states that one of the pazaak players cheat against you ingame, i can't find anything that backs this sentence up.
AMONG USThe wording on that page is vague. I'm unsure if it means that the character cheats against you specifically or if it's just referring to a character that is known for cheating.
For the latter, I know of this guy named Gelrood that was kicked out of the upper city cantina for cheating and lost his "lucky deck".
Quack?I'm getting the urge to playthrough Koter again!
trying to decide on my class..

Then Jedi Guardian.

I'm generally talking about Koter 2 (the puzzle elements of 1 put me off )
New theme music also a boxJedi Guardian.

New theme music also a boxOkay, Sentinel.
Jedi Consular is nice and all, but that's Kreia's class. Might be a bit redundant.

This is fine. That too, lots of dialogue options open up.

So how do people here feel about G0-T0?
Personally, he's my favorite droid in this series. Completely unironically.
