Okay, I've read the first three chapters of Act-age and it has shot straight to being my favorite new series in the Jump. I didn't expect that. They'd better not cancel this, dammit.

Seriously, Yonagi is a great protagonist, the writing is on-spot is the concept is fascinating too. I hope it keeps this level of quality.

So I don't know if it's because of its bad rankings lately, but Yunagi-san's author just wrote an entire battle shonen manga in one chapter. That was hilarious. [lol] And I don't even read that series that often.

Sorry for the triple post, issue 33!

Front color: One Piece
Center color: Dr. Stone (popularity poll), Kochikame (special chapter), Burn the Witch (Tite Kubo one-shot)
Not ranked: Rejectedlightnoveltitle Tanaka Seiji, Alice to Taiyou

1. Kimetsu no Yaiba
2. Yakusoku no Neverland
3. Haikyuu!!
4. Boku no Hero Academia
5. Jujutsu Kaisen
6. Black Clover
7. Act-age
8. Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai
9. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san
10. Shokugeki no Souma
11. Hinomaru Zumou
12. Gintama
13. Noah's Notes
14. Momiji no Kisetsu
15. Kimi wo Shinryakuseyo!

The first volume of JK sold around 25,000 copies in 4 days, Act-age volume 2 around 15,000 copies in the same timeframe.

Invade You already seems to be doomed, which isn't surprising at all.

And after 14 chapters I can confirm that, yeah, Act-age is good. Like, really good.

Looks like Jujutsu might be here to stay.

Also Kimetsu taking its rightful place at the top.

Hopefully KNY will get more attention in the West with the anime. The French publisher has done an awful job at promoting it and hasn't released a volume in 6 months, with no date in sight for the next one. sad

I got the first vol of KNY though sadly it was a recent release so it will take a couple months for the other volumes to arrive.

Jujutsu is interesting, it just had a good fight with the settings world’s strongest man & I’m curious to see where it goes.

Plus the first volume already sold around 28,000 which I think is good for a new series.

Yes, that too. sad …I don't know how NN's first volume fared actually.

…Damn, I jokingly pointed out that any romance in Act-age would be on the Les Yay side, but then they had to put a freaking white lily in one of the chapter covers. evil grin

Speaking of the shonen jump manga... Is Jujutsu Kaisen really good?

[up] From what I heard… speaking of which, issue 34:

Front color: One Piece
Center color: Yakusoku no Neverland, Shokugeki no Sanji (one-shot by the authors of SNS)
Not ranked: Blahblahblah Tanaka Seiji (chapter 5), Alice to Taiyou (chapter 4)

1. Jujutsu Kaisen
2. Dr. Stone
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba
4. Act-age
5. Black Clover
6. Boku no Hero Academia
7. Shokugeki no Souma
8. Haikyuu!!
9. Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai
10. Gintama
11. Hinomaru Zumou
12. Kimi wo Shinryakuseyo!
13. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san
14. Noah's Notes
15. Momiji no Kisetsu

The no. 1 is not a typo. And yes, Act-age is going up! waii

MHA, SNS and Haikyuu will get the color pages next time, and we'll get some more info on KNY's anime.

Jujutsu is an underdog story. From bottom of the pile to No. 1. Pretty amazing.

Like i said in some posts ago... Is Jujutsu Kaisen worth the read? And oof... Noah's Notes still at the low rank.

EDIT: Nvm what I said about Jujutsu Kaisen... Though i have to admit it needs its own page and thread though.

Shonen Jump raws haven't been coming out lately, which means I can't catch up on untranslated series… I wonder if the provider was caught…

What is the To C? Is it something published in the actual JUMP Magazine or just something someone online makes?

The "table of contents." The way the series are ordered in each issue of the Jump more or less reflects their current rankings (excluding the series that have color pages that week, and those that are less than two months old). The series with the best rankings run on front, those with bad rakings are published at the end − they're usually those most likely to be cancelled soon.

How those rankings are made isn't exactly known, but it's partly decided by popularity polls filled each week by the readers and partly by the editors themselves − though the TOC of a certain issue doesn't reflect the rankings of the week immediately before, there's allegedly a two month delay (hence why the authors don't always know their own series' rankings.)

Now that's how it's done in the Jump, I don't know about the other magazines.

But is the list you post here a scan from the magazine, like is the To C on the first page of the magazine for all the readers to see?

I'm hoping that there will be future translations for Noah's Notes and Jujutsu Kaisen as I need to catch their content

@Lyendith Also, what's with the bolded parts though? I thought the bottom 3 was on verge of cancellation which made me scared.

[up][up] It's in the magazine, yes. It looks like this (that's issue 32).

[up] The bold is just for the sake of presentation. X) But yes, the two or three at the bottom have a good chance of being axed, especially if they're recent series and have been there for several weeks in a row.

Though Hinomaru has been running for a long time I believe & it is getting an anime so it’s pretty safe.

But your right to worry for the bottom two if you are a fan.

Oof...And yeah, if Noah's Notes got axed...It will be a sad day for it's fans...Including me. Like I said from my own perspective...I think it didn't do well might be due to the similar premise with Dr. Stone I guess? Still though, I felt pretty bad with the manga and probably going to support it. I can relate to the Male MC on so many levels.

Anyways, for Rankings...I'm still surprised that Kaisen is still at Top 3. So surprised that I made a thread for it. Might be going to create a page of it in the future and inb4 it gets an anime adaptation tongue

For those interested, a documentary aired on Japanese TV about the history of Jump. It's not translated yet though.

Part 1 (from 1968 to the early 80's) and part 2.

Part 1 has an interesting bit about the popularity polls; they even talk about its most recent victims (Ziga and, without naming it, Robot × Laserbeam). The part where the editor calls the author to announce his series' cancellation is a bit sad…

Also, one of the narrators is Sayaka Ohara. tongue
