High School Family adds an antagonist.
Cop & Dolphin is obviously wrapping up, and Build King sounds like it is screwed.
But the big surprise is that it is now apparently confirmed that Phantom Seer is ending. I thought it was doing well besides the rank placement, but someone pointed out to me that volume sales were actually stagnant volume by volume.
So I guess WSJ just made the decision to have its spot used for nurturing something else. I'm not really grieving since the story was so dull and by-the-numbers, but I do hope to see the artist's work again soon enough.
So that's like three series ending within in a short timespan then. Quite the cropping. I'm excited to see what debuts next.
-sigh- Lost passwords...Only two volumes have come out. The first got about 15k in the first two weeks, the second got about 20k in the same period.

No surprise for any of those three. Cop and Dolphin and Build King have been obviously rushing through their stories, while Phantom Seer has been standard fare for its entire run, and mostly noticeable for the fantastic art. I hope that whatever their replacements are, we get another shot at action, and a new sports manga would be nice too.
The Elusive Samurai seems to be settling into a good rhythm, after the growing pains of the initial chapters. Actually looking forward to reading it now.
Witch Watch has been cute fluff. I can already see the new guy being into Niko, so we can have a love triangle put in place.
Actually surprised i tell c is still ongoing.
actually the 2nd one is estimated number, the actual number showed it actually sell less overall then volume 1.
Vol 1: 22k
Vol 2: 21k
Basically the 2nd volume sold well at first but run out of steam fast so it end up sell less than volume 1.

E.T technically is a Isekai movieLike i said, those are from the first 2 weeks, after that it pretty much fall out of Shoseki ranking chart and the current estimates of volume 2 sale is around 21k-22k.
So i was wrong when i said it the actual number, more like the current estimates number.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieIt still seems super early to kill Phantom Seer though.
Not really. Killing something when it only has material for one volume is exceptionally fast for Jump, but Honomieru Shounen will be at three. Fairly typical

I wonder how Nine Dragons is performing so far. I find myself enjoying it a fair bit.

poor Phantom Seer.
Secret SignatureI'm happy that the new baseball manga is doing well, I love sports stories when you see the main team being built from almost zero (like in Eyeshield 21). If the author is good at writing actual games too, this could be really nice.
I'm kinda disappointed by Witch Watch, the humor and the two mains aren't really doing it for me. It's a pity, since I loved Sket Dance. Still, I hope it lasts a while. I think it could get a lot better if it has time to build a larger cast.

This has been pointed out to me, it doesn't help Phantom Seer that it doesn't fill a particular niche.
Like the whole demon/cursed exorcist set in the modern day by teenage protagonists is already being done by Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man so its not like its capturing an audience the later 2 already don't.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Those are also much better received and popular
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I miss Chainsaw Man. I hope Part 2 actually happens, and the author manages to recreate that strange mix of farce and drama, exaggerated cynicism and unexpected wholesome moments.
People complain about manga overusing "exorcists" as a theme, but Phantom Seer is living particularly far under the shadow of Jujutsu Kaisen, given they're also of similar genre (horror-themed action). Mitama, Ayakashi Triangle, and even Bone Collection are more obviously different.
One really wonders how Phantom Seer was serialized in the first place, or why it wasn't pushed to more of a straight-up horror manga to make itself more distinct. Was there some kind of editorial change?
Yes. The main character of Chainsawman, Denji, is 16.
Well he's 17 at the end of part 1.
Glad to hear Nine Dragons is doing well. I suppose it's in part due to it being the first sports manga in a while. When Haikyuu ended, WSJ was without any sports manga for the first time in about half a century, and then half a year passed with no new one. An uncontested niche.
-sigh- Lost passwords...RIP Build King, being placed after a manga that ended this issue.
Hey, High School Family did its best to fill the gap.
Nine Dragons may be operating in an empty niche, but it's also looking good on its own merits, so I'm glad it's doing well.
Build King seem to about to end next issue. Rumor still flying around.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieIts kind darkly hilarious how the thing has just lost itself.
You can really tell its about to be cancelled.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Self deleted for reasons.
