Said translator (Stefan Koza) was arrested almost a month ago, and translations are submitted quite close to the release date, so he's already been replaced for Jujutsu Kaisen (by John Werry) and Ghost Reaper Girl (by Amanda Haley). Although We Never Learn only ended last issue, Camellia Nieh had long since taken over translating that one.
…One of the few times a series’ translator is mentioned in the news, it has to be for this. We really do a thankless job.
Oh yeah. I didn't expect this would impact the series translations one bit.
You really do. The unsung heroes really.
so uh. Aggravity Boys ended up on what is essentially parody of axe endings? Or at least shonen manga endings
A’ight, it’s been a while.

Moriking wrapped up its main plotline and just had a time skip, so I expect it will finish next issue.
I quite enjoyed Moriking, nothing special, but pretty much every chapter made me chuckle at least a bit.
@Hard-Boiled Cop & Dolphin: No, they didn't use that magic breathing thing, just regular scuba gear.
Are they hinting Samejima has something unusual going on biologically, either before or since he's been on the island?
@High School Family: I'd assume they don't test pronunciation because how do you grade accent clarity with any degree of objectivity?
Going with before, there has been something weird wth Shark from the start.
50 chapters is actually a fairly decent run for Agravity.
It actually lasted longer than Samurai 8.
Sakamoto in Sakamoto Days is basically in a John Wick situation now.
The last two chapters of Roboco are literally just the author fanboying over other Jump series.

Please, no one kill Sakamoto's dog.
Agravity isn't complete until the promise of Chris's nipples is fulfilled.
Every Roboco chapter is about fanboying over other Jump series.
Not the Twitter one.
And Platinum End has ended. Looks like there won't be a sequel.
Platinum End was still going on?
Yup. It even had an anime announced recently, so I suppose it was at least moderately successful in Japan.
It sold almost 300k copies on average per volume. So yeah, its a success, though not as much as bakuman or death note, obviously.

Well credit to the author’s for finding decent success on their, what 3rd series?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Third for Ohba, fourth for Obata, who had already found success with Hikaru no Go which was a collaboration with Yumi Otta.

I had bailed after the third collected volume due to skeeviness, but started reading Platinum End again once it was on the Shonen Jump website. At some point I guess I will have to go back and fill in the blanks.
Maybe the anime version will make lessen the boredom enough it'll be tolerable.
2021 starting off with a bang. The translator for Jujutsu Kaisen was arrested for child porn.

At least this isn't Japan where they'll gonna get off light with a slap on the wrist and a wag of the finger.
Edit: Debated on posting this in the actual Jujutsu forum but since they also worked on other WSJ series, and since we don't have a general WSJ forum for whatever reason, this was the best place to put this.
