With X-Men going to be written by Avengers writer, I wonder if Mc Kay might do a crossover where the X-Men have to deal with the Tribulation events.

Since they're recycling old event names and concepts, why not take another shot at Acts of Vengeance.

Have the X-men fight Avengers enemies and the Avengers fight X-men Enemies.

Though at this point, what X-men enemies are left beyond mutant hating lunatics like Orchis, and the Avengers are already fighting them.

Grant Rogers, fka as Captain Hydra, sat the latest battle out so the X-Men could fight him and his newest Flagsmashers. The Avengers in turn could fight Hordeculture or have their turn at being pestered by Mojo.

there also also potential Arraki mutants (some like Wolverines's new rival remained antagonistic IIRC. Plus the Genesis thing might leave them more belligerent), Coven Akaaba (affiliated with but not part of Orchis), the Children of the Vault, Saturnyne, Sabertooth, etc.

[up][up][up]and[up][up]

Well, Spidey did have to deal with Mojo a few times (first in Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine, and then in Spider Man And The Xmen).

So seeing how the Avengers field his threat would be interesting.

I think that, depending on the enemy, the Avengers could handle much of what the X-Men deal with, at least in terms of physical strength.

[up][up]I like it but I think it should have been 8-12 issues not 6. Lot of interesting stuff but we don't get to focus on it because there is no time.

[up][up][up]he is just the worst. Granted he was brought up by the red skull in disguise but still.

Yeah this is way too small scale. I get its called Avengers Twilight, but we get absolutely nothing on the status of characters like the X-Men or Fantastic Four.

The main line-up is also pretty dull. We got main guy old Cap, Kamala who's a mom, Thor who left after H-Day because he got sad seeing his friends grow old but is suddenly all over that with one offscreen call from Cap, Tony's disembodied head, and some random soldier woman whose codename is Bullseye but is now wearing Hawkeye's outfit.

And our main villains is Red Skull in an Iron Man suit, Tony's dirtbag son, and now for the last issue the Hulk.

The weird thing with the soldier is that she's a member of the Thunderbolts military squad which are introduced as a psycho military squad that the president had a breakdown over having them operate in US grounds, but Bullseye is a very moral person who disobeys direct orders cause she doesn't shoot civilians and goes to Steve's side after a talk with him.

Bullseye is a very moral person

I know it's actually a different person and a different verse, but damn that is weird to read.

Yeah, Twilight is not impressing. Very by-the-numbers and frankly feels like a lesser rehash of classics like Last Avengers Story. Strange that Zdarsky gets free reign to basically go nuts with the Avengers given it's an Elseworld and instead all he does is the most rote thing possible.

Its funny the build-up for the Thunderbolts as this team of psychos and its just woman with a sniper and another woman with a gun.

Which the team disappears after 2, only Bullseye shows up when Cap sneaks into the Raft, and when she joins his sad they don't appear again.

Also the New Avengers working under the regime don't exist. They are a propaganda machine with fake computer generated videos and interviews. Meaning we also missed out on the chance of having old heroes fighting new corrupt ones.

Its all very straightforward and all this is fit its very topical themes of corruption, fascism, manipulation of media, etc. Skull's army is just people (with a lotta military personal) he's manipulated through years of propaganda and lies to finally stage a coup on the US and oust its leaders under the guise they are tyrannical. Gee I wonder what thats based on. tongue

Earth X took 13 issues to build its world and that was with dense, dense plotting and appendices at the back of every issue to shotgun more lore at the audience.

It really does sound like Avengers Twilight could have used more room to stretch its legs.

[up][up]Yeah, it's very much the kind of story that relies on you sharing the writer/internet's precise view of the current political landscape.

Does anyone think that Doctor Doom is more consistent than Doc Ock?

Whether Doom is a noble man with good intentions and a honking rage button labelled RIIIIICHARRRRDS or a person who just wears nobility as a mask for being the worst is something the comics go back and forth on depending on writer.

Hell, Doom might be less consistent, considering how often his behavior has to be explained with Doombots.

I'd argue Doom has consistent motives, Doc Ock doesn't have that. But Doc Ock does have that actual degree so he gets to call himself a doctor.

Doc Ock can go from working with Spider-Man to save civilians, to trying to blow up New York out of ego and Doom can wear his girlfriend's skin as armor to spite Reed, but also cry over 9/11.

But at least we know what Doctor Doom wants out of life and his goals as a supervillain. Doc Ock is whatever the hell the writer feels like.

In space, no one can hear you scream "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!"

It's not a fanfic, it's Disney flexing their IP and having their greatest superhero team against their greatest evil man-eating, acid-spitting, facehugger-hatching Xenomorphs!

ALIENS VS. AVENGERS

("Okay bruh, it's probably some doofus team of nobodies writing and drawing. No big—")

NOPE! The writing-drawing duo behind Secret Wars (2015), Jonathan "I'm saving Spider-Man!" Hickman and Esad "I draw real good!" Ribic are pairing up once more to see superheroes put the hurt on the eyeless monsters from beyond the stars!

It's so insane and borderline stupid sounding, yet also so awesome. I never realized how much I want Johnathan Hickman to write Aliens before now and I'm honestly genuinely shocked he hasn't; that franchise is right up his alley and Marvel makes Aliens comics now.

This isn't even the first time Aliens has crossed over with a superhero franchise, anyone remember that crossover it had with the Wildstorm comics years back?
