Bart sighed in relief as the rockets hit the ground harmlessly. He was starting to think he'd had enough of things trying to kill him today; though the mission wasn't over, so that probably wasn't over yet either.
In fact, he realized that this battle itself wasn't even over yet, there just wasn't anything shooting at him now. He turned his mech, and figured as a just in case measure, activated his stealth unit again. He maneuvered around, trying to find a good spot to fire at one of the tanks attacking the Solar Flare. If he found one quickly, he would proceed to fire on the tank with his ion machine gun.
You are reading this.Aleida waited for the Oxy-incinerator to recharge before blasting the other tank close to her, blindfired the railgun at the closest still-hostile target and turned her attention towards the skies, where the fliers might come through. The smaller machines can clean up, she needed to focus on her specialties.
"Mind punching me a hole through this canopy so we don't get blindsided by air cover? If we're pinned here we may as well be able to defend ourselves. Once we've cleared the place out I can lock down and find if we have any more tanks coming in... but I want to be sure we've good and safe first"
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?The combined fire of all six mechs quickly put an end to the resistance the three crippled tanks were putting up - the Sammy smashed the charging tank, the oxy-incinerator* burned the crew of another, and while the railgun wasn't even close to charged, it managed to blow a hole in the final tank while the ion machinegun cooked it.
The forest was now a blazing inferno, the black smoke rising up to the tarp above. Any mech that was using its radar would see that the three airborne targets had retreated back to where they came from after scouting the location of their previous encounter.

"Well, that was fun." Brian said as the tanks were quickly destroyed. "Although I'm pretty sure we've lost all pretense of having the element of surprise."
"That leaves us one option: We move as fast as we can and finish the op. I'm ready to move on Grindstone's orders." Brian retracted all of Sammy's weapons in preparation for breaking into a run."

Armored panels slid over the viewports on her mech, and her command chair slid back into a very dark enclosure. Once on place displays all around her lit up, and the space she previously occupied in the 'head' of the machine lit up with a holographic tactical display. Seismic sensors came online, painting red dots and streaks over the map.
"I have intermittent contacts spread out across three points. Some light vehicles as well as an on-and-off, heavier signature I cant really define. Static though, could be coming from a building. Headings 220, 240, and 270. The first one is three kilometers out, the last two are closer to two."
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Bart listened, trying to think strategically. He deactivated the stealth unit, to let it recharge back to full; he could be needing that very shortly. "I could go check out that static and confirm if it's one of our targets or not" Bart suggested in response Aleida, starting to move Southward since that was the direction their targets were supposed to be in; however he moved more slowly this time, in case that wasn't quite right.

"Oh no you don't!" Brian yelled from within the Warwalker as the tank attempted to ram into Sammy. Diving and rolling to the side, Brian stood Sammy up in a fighting stance as the cable whip retracted back into her arm.
"Take this!" he cried as Sammy swung the cable whip over her head before lashing out at the tank and the man wielding the RPG. "No one rams into me!"
