Back when it was on Disney Channel it scored 3 million viewers and its the highest rated Disney XD show ever with 2 million viewers.
But the Disney Afternoon was just as high rated and look what happened to THAT.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Did Hirsch say that Haituses had any impact on his decision to end the show at Season 2?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Wasn't P&F universally hated by the time it ended, though?

Peace is the only battle worth waging. Not that from I know of, no.
No, sure there were haters but they hated the show from the get go. People were either sad and happy it ended or indiferent.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.It has a fairly large entry here.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. It's something that's often speculated since Hirach said one of the big reasons they pushed up NWHS and ended the series early was that people already figured out the big twist, and the hiatuses gave people plenty of time to do that.
I imagine that had less to do with wanting to screw Gravity Falls then with wanting to use it to boost Disney XD's viewership. It may have also had to do with demographics, but that's even more speculative.
It doesn't surprise me that people were getting tired of Phineas and Ferb, but I didn't think it was (or is) that bad. If nothing else I heard the finale was well received by most.

The thing is there was already going to be a gap between Season 1 and 2 no matter what Disney did. Isn't that where most of the twin theory speculation happened (though it was there as early as Season 1)
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Good thing Alex decided to end the show on a strong note rather than keep it running for the sake of ratings. Whenever a popular show goes on for a long time, they tend to go through Seasonal Rot.
I mean, people are sorta complaining about the show going into a rot because of the pacing, so good on him to end it on his terms at least.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I stopped watching P&F consistently a few years ago, but I saw some more recent episodes while I was sick a few days ago and it seemed fine.
I watched this show on a whim a while ago, and it seems really good. Animation is good, the comedy is actually pretty strong for a kid's show, and there's continuity.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?It may just be that Alex left too many hints for people to find, but I think people just find it easier to blame Disney's scheduling then imply that Alex may have partially botched his own story.
You can count me as one of the people who felt that it was not necessary to end the story so quickly and that things overall suffered for it.
Phineas and Ferb always seemed like a show that you would just watch if it was on and nothing better was on rather then something you actively follow.
Not to say it was bad, I liked it well enough. It just didn't feel like I should keep up with the new release schedule. How often it was on certainly helped with that.

I'm not counting you in because I was never in. I think the show is going a bit too fast, yeah, but I'm not mad about it like a lot of people (cough4CHANcough). I'm, quite frankly, glad it's ending now instead of years from now because of hiatuses.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I figure the issue is having the mystery at a level children might conceivably be able to figure it out means that adults with a desire to rewatch the episode over and over will pick up on it quickly.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I can see Gravity Falls becoming a classic for the years to come as some kind of "seasonal" event: if they broadcast the show in marathons through the summer, yeah, I think it will stay.
Then again, they can always screw it up, so only time will tell.
Wow, Spino, you really shouldnt believe everything you read. Especially here on TV Tropes. People can edit anything they want in this wiki, you know? I always warn people to take stuff mentioned here with a grain of salt.
You might be right in that it could be quickly forgotten, though.

Peace is the only battle worth waging....Who the hell is Spino?
H.B. WardThen bring up those, not just that very weird rumor wall.
Phineas and Ferb was liked fine. Sure, its probably going to be quickly forgotten but its still quite liked, despite what the haters might say.

How was I supposed to know it was a "weird rumor wall" if it was consistent with what I've read elsewhere?
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Aeg's arrow points to exactly the wrong post. I hope you guys understand my confusion here.
H.B. WardSpino. Because you should exercise common sense and not believe in stuff so easily? And those sites arent the end all of what people think either.
Millions of kids and adults watched and liked the final episodes. It ended so that it didnt lose luster.

I never said they were. I was merely under the impression that since three different websites documented more-or-less the same opinion, it was a reasonably broad consensus.

Peace is the only battle worth waging.I was confused too.
Watching the marathon on Disney XD right now, it's on the Bottomless Pit episode. God, Mable can be really annoying sometimes.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
I see Gravity Falls as being a cult classic kind of show. I doubt it'll have that much of an impact on the public as something like P&F did, but I still think it'll be remembered by some.
