"You can reply to this Message!"I enjoyed The Never-Ending Sacrifice by Una Mc Cormack. The story of Rugal (from the DS 9 episode "Cardassians") trying to live in a culture he has learned to despise despite coming from it is an interesting one.
I haven't read a lot of Trek EU novels but when I do, I usually avoid books that feel like episodes of all the TV series and get stuff like the Tales of the Dominion War anthology and Articles of the Federation. In fact, I remember what the editor of the former (and the author of the latter) Keith R. A. DeCandido said in the intro of the anthology. He mentioned that most early Trek novels only focused on a starship with the name of Enterprise. However, thanks to DS 9 and later Peter David's New Frontier series, the writers were allowed to explore other aspects of the Star Trek universe.

Alas, the 'expanded universe' in Trek is coming to a end. Its going out with a bang though.

Any recommendations for DS 9 era books?
With Strange New Worlds having ended its 1st season, I thought it'd be a good time to ask: anyone here remember the annual fan-written short story contest called Strange New Worlds?
