How were these shows? The only one I remember well is Lilo and Stitch the series. I know there was an Aladdin, Hercules, Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Toy Story(sort of), Timon and Pumbaa, etc.

How were they in quality? I remember feeling as a kid a bit underwhelmed for some of them. After watching the movies, where the characters already grew a great deal, the animated series sort of reset a lot of things. Yet I've heard that some of them(such as Aladdin) were well received.

T&P and BLOSC were really the only good spinoff television shows, pretty much.

I thought Lilo and Stitch was a pretty good show as a kid. It was never my favorite, but it was a lot of fun.

As a rule of thumb, the TV series sequels tended to be much, much better than the movie sequels.

I think I have to agree with that.

Tarzan, the series, actually incorporated elements from Burroughs mythos, like La of Opar (in an admittedly altered form) and Pellucidar. Of the series you mentioned, I liked Tarzan and Aladdin best of all, but then I've always been a fan of Disney's adventure series.

Aladdin was great - it was the first show they did with that aim and had some of the best storytelling besides. Lilo And Stitch was good as well, and Timon And Pumbaa.

The Little Mermaid was... decent. I guess. There was a lot of Fridge Logic involved with it, as well as with Hercules (oh, the Negative Continuity), though. 101 Dalmatians was goofy, but I'd hesitate to call it bad, per se.

After rewatching Timon and Pumbaa, I do think that it's actually pretty funny.

I loved the Hercules one, mostly because it got to do a lot more goofy spins on Greek mythology than the movie had time for. The Aladdin one was pretty solid as well. Timon and Pumbaa.... eh. It had some good points, but all it did was drop them and other characters like Rafiki and the hyenas into Looney Tunes premises.

I think the Aladdin one was the best so far. He and the genie were great complementary protagonists and even Jago was a nice not-so-good character with a realistic personality (thought he was a sentient parrot). The villains were excellent too. Obviously my favourite one is Mirage, excellent take on the egyptian goddess Sekhmet. Even thought she suffers of design instability through the whole series.

Tarzan's the only one I remember well, and I actually liked it more than the movie!
