Jim decides to do that thing other YouTubers do where they take a Nintendo Direct and talk over it with reactions.
This... does not look like the Direct I saw.
Jim talks Negativity
Edited by Ghilz on Mar 30th 2020 at 9:01:15 AM
Jim is really getting creative with how he does the opening now that he can't use his studio.
Funny, though, this Jimquisition came out the day after I watched his old Jimquisition on Doomguy, which I think is one of his most positive and best episodes.
Jim's right. Negativity sells on the Internet. Heck, I love watching his rants, so I'm part of the problem.
Although I also have to admit that "Born Different" has grown on my so much that I get a big grin just listening to it at the start of each Jimquisition. It made me search out Drill Queen and be as disappointed as everyone else when it turned out that they'd only ever made three songs.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Maybe I'm in the minority but I really enjoy the more positive episodes. Like Civvie's ep on Doom 2016, Caddicarus' old videos on crash bandicoot 3, that kinda thing.
The positivity means more coming from someone normally perceived as negative. Although tbh I think Jim does have nice things to say about plenty of games, the only reason he's so negative is because video game companies keep doing stupid things.
I dont think it means more, only that it's different from the norm. If that were the case the view counts wouldn't be half of the norm.
no, you're not. Hell one of my favourites is when Jim talked about Monster hunter world and their developers' thoughts on lootboxes pretty much knee capping everything the AAA industry says on why they're essential. Also "If history forgets Nier Automata then F**k history."

If you can't handle being outed by a signature, that's on you. With The OG Nier getting a remake, I don't think people have forgotten Automata...
Watch SymphogearI was happy to see how positive he was about the game. After being a Nier fan for years until Automata was released, seeing it be so well-received was quite vindicating.
Don't get me wrong; I like Jim's positive videos just fine, and I strongly value recommendations from critics like him and Zero Punctuation precisely because they don't give away praise like candy (or, more to the point, for being kept off of a publisher's shit list). That said, it's just plain fun to listen to him savage something or someone that truly deserves it.
(Mea culpa: I decided not to watch his videos attacking Blizzard for the Hearthstone tournament fiasco last year, because I have mixed feelings about that topic and I didn't need the elevated blood pressure.)

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think it helps that Jim isn't really that vitriolic unless a game really pisses him off for some reason. He has a variety of reactions to games, including "decent with a few problems", "bland and unremarkable", "this is actually the worst thing i've ever played", "good game but not for me".
It is kinda funny watching him hiss at Life of Black Tiger, money Walletfare Rebastard or about what they DID to Zhang He tho.
Someone on the Jimquisition Facebook group suggested that Jim should talk with his top patrons to get a feel for what kind of content his fans want, but he literally did a video (Perfect Pasta Sauce, or something like that) on why he thinks that wouldn't work.
jamie-b-good.tumblr.comI also like Jim's positive videos a lot, unfortunately some of them tend to be for games that I don't care about enough to watch anything for whether positive or negative, which is the main reason I don't watch them.
Oh look who's making himself heard again.
Gearbox Employees, who are being paid below standard in the industry, aren't getting their bonus for Borderlands 3's release
Edited by Ghilz on Apr 2nd 2020 at 10:04:00 AM
Been a while since Jim made a video about Randy
Reminder that Borderlands 3 was Epic exclusive so Gearbox probably squeezed a bunch of extra money out of that.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I am now quite happy I go my copy of Borderlands 2 for $2 at Half-Price Books.

Oh yeah they kinda dropped this on us didn't they
Modern Warfare 2...
I remember the shitstorm, the criticism, the stuff back then in 2009. "Good" times
Still a relic of the "dark age of FP Ses".
Resident Evil: Resistance - I Like It But It's Kinda Bad? (Jimpressions)
Jim's tastes, summed up in one sentence.

Animal Crossing was always the Play Everyday type of game.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.
