Though it was awkward to essentially be GMing for just one person there for a while, it's much easier to blame the slowness on me, I would think.

Anyway, I'm gonna get a post up real soon, then I'll probably get going for tonight.

EDIT: Alright, I'll be back after work tomorrow. (May possibly but unlikely drop in before work too.)

So there was more than one person simply busy? Well, that would help explain things more.

Anyway, I got back from work a while ago but I've been checking up on some other things. Those of you with Steam may have noticed there's a big sale going on. I haven't played anything*

since I got back, but there's been a lot of things interesting enough to me that I wanted to go look up further info.

So yeah, now that I'm back from reading an entirely different set of forums for takes on something, I plan on posting soon.

Oh, and just to clarify something, @Wysp and DAcriz: Are either of your characters using a light source right now? Going back through the posts, I don't see any specified, so that's what I'm assuming right now but I figured I'd check.

I think that Dean carries a flashlight that can also fit into his Kriss, but I forgot to write it in my last post since he's using the shotgun and the flashlight would be in his pocket. So I guess right now he's just poking around in the dark. Should I edit my last post or wait till you post and then have him turn on the light.

I guess that would be up to you, but since you've already 'forgotten' it would be easy to say that Dean forgot at first too.

My decision on it would be, "what's most in character for him?"

Well since Dean is already inside the cooler and is checking the shelves, he would first get fed up with the darkness, since he wants to inspect what is inside the containers, so he would check his pockets for a light source.

So he'd walk into the cooler, then get his flashlight ready? Alright, all I needed to know; in which case please wait until I post.

I know it sounds a bit trivial, but since Dean doesn't have a backpack he carries everything in his many pockets, although he tries not fill it up too much. Because of this, some of his things are unorganized even though he designates certain pockets for specific items like fire starting equipment and magazines so that he can grab them quickly. That's why he would check his pockets and then realize that he does have his flash light. Either that or grab a lighter in his fire starting pocket and burn a strip of cardboard from a box for a torch.

The thing I needed to know was whether he would get his flashlight (or any other light) out before or after walking into the dark room. Since, if he got it out before, he would've seen what he just bumped into and the sequence of events probably would go a lot different.

The question wasn't whether or not he had one or where he kept it; it was simply whether he was using it yet or not.

I'm sorry if I confused you.

Oh it's fine. I thought you were a bit uncertain of his actions because I saw that question, but either way I still would've explained why he didn't think of using it right away.

Blame the fact that it's 5 in the morning right now.[lol]

Ah, I know that feeling.

I'll probably wait on my post for now, possibly until tomorrow. I don't work again until Monday and only have a minor social appointment tomorrow, so I should be pretty free during the weekend.

... Well, the time-sucking vacuum that is a new 4X game I've started playing aside, that is.

Alright, doing a quick post here to let you guys know I'm still alive and what my current plan on posting is. I've mainly been waiting to give a chance for anyone besides Wysp to post. (Or for Kino to return in signups.)

Of course, I don't plan on waiting forever; so what I'm thinking is that I'll post tomorrow, even if nobody else has posted by then. (If so, it'll probably be another simple hand wave post.)

Funny enough I was actually waiting on firock and gbrnfgfol to post, since I like to wait for others to have a chance to do something. Reason for that was because of an rp that I was in where all the players were in different timezones rp wise

Also, I forgot to mention yesterday that I had work today. I have work tomorrow, too.

I'm having a bit of writer's block on my main post, so I apologize in advance if I don't end up posting tonight.

This is a quick copy paste I'm doing in all the discussion threads of RPs I'm in. I was hoping to get some serious posting done tonight in multiple RPs, some of which I outright said I planned to do.

Unfortunately, I just became the victim of a sudden and rapid onset of a painful physical issue. It's not serious, (At least I really, really, really hope it isn't.) but it was rather painful and still smarts even now. This has done to my drive to post what many a baseball bat has done to the kneecaps of people who owed money to the mob.

Now, I don't have any more work this week, so I'm staying up as late as I want tonight and might get some posting done later before bed. In any case, I apologize for the delay on my part.

With any luck I'll be back to normal by tomorrow, but in the meantime, I'm gonna try and find some painkillers and do my best to distract this pain away.

As an addition to this one in particular for the RP I'm running: I realize the possibility that it may seem like I'm just trying to avoid my posting responsibilities as GM. This is again one of those things that I assure you I'm not doing, but I can't really think of a way to prove it to you. Sorry.

@Firock, I've re-read the second beistery and something caught my eye that I didn't notice the first time I read it: you've stripped pretty much all the power from Elmshadows so now they're just lowly Boggarts. In my 'verse they can transform into multiple creatures at the same time. Each victim only perceives the image of their own fear and so each one will be oblivious of the other victim's fears. I don't really mind whether you alter their entry or not I just wanted you to know you've made them seriously underpowered.

I had a couple reasons for the change. The first was that I figured for my version of it, it's literally shape shifting rather than just throwing illusions around. So whatever your character fears most, (Or the best representation of their fear if it's something less tangible.) it actually becomes, not just mimics or makes them think it's what they're seeing. warning

Plus this differentiates it from other enemies that do shape shift and other enemies that can use illusions. Having it work the way you suggest it seems a bit redundant when I could have a lich do almost the exact same thing.

The second reason was in regards to how the heck this thing would be beaten in the first place. Unless I let you guys have your characters just happen to get over their greatest fear at the most convenient and contrived timing possible, this thing is basically guaranteed to make the person it's targeting useless. (And if it could target more than one person at a time, it'd become a total party kill waiting to happen.) Of course, that's when it occurred to me that I did set this RP up to be a team game after all, so what better way to take on an enemy like this than teamwork?

[up][up] True, although the illusion is supposed to be so powerful that you actually think you are being killed by it. I guess in my 'verse they are meant to be nigh indestructible. But still, whats scarier than your friends bent double in pain then suddenly lying on the floor twitching? Often in my 'verse they start just messing with people after a while: doing things like turning into dead family members and making it look like your friends have mistaken you for the monster, so an illusion of them turns and attacks you as well.

I think there's no point in signatures.
