Huh, I was wondering what Honor of Kings was. Checking Wikipedia, it's the original version of Arena of Valor, and it's so popular in China that it got smacked down by the Chinese government for addiction in children. Haohmaru, Ukyo, and Nakoruru had also appeared as Guest characters in the game (as well as Mai)

So guess it's not a surprising pick for the Chinese gamers.

Season 3 is officially in development.

Being on the somewhat on the bandwagon for Samsho, are there any characters missing?

I can only think of Cham, Amakasu, & Zankuro

Gen-an and Sieger are the other big ones based on the old poll they took that got Mina and Iroha in.

Well, Princess Suzu ranked higher than them, but I doubt she's getting added due to timeline problems (i.e., She'd still be 10 yrs old at the time of this game).

Yeesh, I guess being a guest star & a character from the beloved CVS 2 was never really going to cause that much of a reaction.

I need to get back into this game, but I'm impressed that they managed to make another Iaijutsu Practitioner look cool. IMO, that's an accomplishment.

Well if it really is Baiken then at least we know why she's missing from GG Strive's launch roster

I personally hope she gets a double DLC reveal for Sam Sho and Strive.

Man, can you imagine? That would've been really crazy great day Baiken fans everywhere.

Kinda off-topic but I always wanted that to happen with Tifa being announced as a guest star for DOA & Tekken. I know that was always going to be a pipe dream, but it sure would've been nice.

People went looking through the game files when Cham Cham dropped and found Amakusa's portrait and references to BKN (Baiken) in the code

Neinhalt Seiger is who I was referring to. When he was being teased for his original release, SNK put his silhouette in a magazine to drum up speculation. One of the Capcom artists filled his silhouette in with a man wearing one boot, holding a giant fish.

I didnt know. This is great news.

Is there an ideal version of this character? I blamed the player but the videos I watched about Amakusa are pretty straightforward for a SNK Boss. There has to be more than just hitting people his crystal ball with telekinesis

That's awesome, Amakusa is a memorable SNK Boss and a cool character. Actually there's two amakusa, an evil corrupted version when he was brought back to life in Samsho 1 and a good version who was in 4. IIRC the body is actually Hanzo's son so it's like amakusa was brought back to life through Hanzo's son.

Amakusa's return made me realize that Samsho has a lot of fantasy elements that I thought that was common in fighting games. I guess that's how bad it was back in the 2000s when 3D became so prominent.
