...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuA character death.
NICE.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.FATALITY
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialI'm not scared at all, but that's okay, I almost never get scared of horror stuff because they outright say they're going to scare you.
I just feel the story is trying too hard to create this atmosphere of creepiness. Random creepy dolls! Oh look, ghost girl appears, let's chase after her for no good reason, making sure to abruptly stop whatever we were doing! My freaking umbrella is designed with a freakin' metal spike on top!
The story just feels awkward, I can't tell what's going in the lead guy's head, and not in a good way, and a death scene that rubbed me the wrong way.

Well there would be several deaths in store anyway, but not necessarily death scenes...for example, he's talking to someone over the phone who abruptly dies. lol
If there's a "lol" at the end, it's not a spoiler from the anime OK? LOL

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over. Not OK. This is an anime thread. If you want to talk about novels, take it to the literature forum. Or if you really can't help it, for example it's directly related to a longer post you are writing, then at least make it clear.

Edit: Um no she's not dead, yet.

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyu@Ever9: This is the Manga & Anime section though. I haven't read the light novel. There's no "anime only" Another thread, or "manga only" Another thread for that matter.
EDIT: Actually, looks like your reaction is quite weird.
Hop on to the High School Dx D thread and there's a spoiler from the novel. IT WASN'T MET WITH HOSTILITY LIKE YOU JUST DID RIGHT NOW.
@djmaca: She's not dead? Then why did he talk to police investigators regarding her death then?

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Well, it IS met with hostility here. Don't post Light Novel spoilers.
@fillerdude
I am glad I am not the only one who thought that. The Anime looks like its trying too hard to be scary. Then all of the sudden (yet entirely predictable), Boom! someone dies in a fashion similar to a Final Destination Sequel and with so little character development other than "She was nice." Facepalm Galore.

Do normal ponies do that? I don't want to do that unless it is what normal ponies do.@entropy
Uh? Whose death are we talking about anyway? I could swear you are on the Nurse's and her brother. But they ain't dead yet, in the anime. So please: No dropping spoilers from a hospital's elevator.

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuSince the first episode is available in my cable (the second episode and on is not free), I decided to take a look.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Just a question: was Mizuno crushed to death by the elevator after she was impaled, or did some of the rubble just happen to fall on her corpse?
I assumed she was crushed to death.
Four episodes and I still don't like it. That glass on the truck being pushed by a breeze... —facepalm— I will admit that at least the elevator one was a plausible accident, if only because I can suspend that much disbelief.
And all this Poor Communication Kills doesn't make sense, and unlike in romantic works they don't even make things more interesting to watch. Personally, this episode did show marginal improvement, so I'm willing to watch another episode or two, but if it still sucks then, well, I have other ways to spend my time.
@Ever 9: Exactly, don't post Light Novel spoilers. Which I haven't done. You're warning me about something I didn't do.
You're right. And actually it doesn't get any better. Prepare to get a few more "WTF?" moments. LOL

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Strongly disagree about the Poor Communication Kills issue. It's heavily implied at this point that discussing exactly what the problem is a bad idea. Like, it seems the knowledge itself makes bad things happen.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."That was my original stance until (warning: spoilers as in someone spoiled the story for me ahead of the anime) someone told me that Misaki's not a ghost.

Well, this episode explained the Poor Communication Kills thing quite nicely. The class registers as over-full, so pretending that a classmate doesn't exist staves off the curse. Registering their existence breaks the charm, and people start dying, which was why they were scared of even explaining to Kouichi that he's supposed to ignore Mei. Guess it's just up to our two 'ghosts' now.

What's precedent ever done for us?And 5 episodes in, the premise finally gets explained. And the central mystery becomes 'who's the ghost?' rather than 'what's going on?' I also get the distinct impression that breaking the charm makes you more likely to be the target of the curse, though that raises the question of why our protagonist's okay. There are a lot of little questions still niggling around, really.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Maybe he doesn't register as part of the class, due to arriving late? That would explain why the deaths didn't start until he forced other people to acknowledge Mei's existence.
What's precedent ever done for us?
From my understanding, it was indeed Sakuraba's sudden transfer that threw class 3's silent agreement into the crapper. Putting him in the ignore list is pretty much a move of desperation, but I think it's already too late to stop the curse, barring actually finding who the 'Another' is.
I can't be the only one who found SUDDEN SPONTANEOUS HEART ATTACK hilarious, right?
El. Psy. Congroo. And thus the True Noir took her leave.
Yep she's an "outcast", simply because she's the "odd one out" in their class. The "black curse" works in weird ways. lol
Kouichi would eventually follow suit. lol
