Considering how everyone already has a pick of powers, I am very tempted to go with something like the Obliterator Virus

You're allowed repeats and that sounds to powerful / dark for the setting. Not that the setting isn't already dark, just that it might force it to be darker.

I was more thinking be inspired by it, not follow it exactly, cause the mental degredation wouldn't be that fun from a interaction point of view. Plus, the characters are supposed to be in high school, which means my character can't grow like 12 feet tall and armed to the teeth.

Pitch it and I'll see what I can do.

• Name: Mark Meschaninov
• : Hyena Cros
• Age:15
• Clubs: Ultimate Frisbee Club
• Power/change: self duplication
• 2012 Belief: mass hysteria. Many will die from a belief that something good will happen if they kill themselves.
• Appearance: 5"8, black hair, Caucasian, features of both Russian and Spanish
• Personality: not sociable, but loves to have fun. Suffers from schizophrenia 
• Talents: mechanically inclined (can build a weapon out of anything), martial arts expert, good with fighting and weapons in general.
• Flaws: extremely impulsive; slow to anger, but goes insane when angry
• Backstory: Mark grew up with a normal family. Nothing exciting had happened in his life until his grandfather gave him his first gun when he was 7. Since then, he has been obsessed with the mechanics of guns and explosives. He sells his creations to people who are willing to buy, and he uses the money to make more things. He has recently been given detention for bringing his pen gun to school and was unable to attend the party.
• Other: none

I like it, but I see a few problems.

1) First of all, this RP takes place on a fictional island of japan (off the mainlnad 5 islands). Not in the US, or another country.

2) I would assume the above would mess with a few things, such as his (useful) habit of guns, as guns are banned in japan (and it's quite hard to get them. It's possible IRL, but REALLY hard and impracticable.) I don't think he sounds like a native Japanese.

3) How does his power work? Duplication is a powerful...power, but there's many ways the ability can work. Obviously it has to work someway. Clarification please.

4) So the guy suffers from breaks in reality? Ohhh. I wonder what you had in mind for him. There is a small main storyline, but this is more really like a open freedom RP. You guys are going to build the story for the most part. I'll take care of the last few acts, but most of this is your all making.

His character could be an exchange student, like mine.

I like that. Mark's father is a successful software programmer whose business made he and his family move to Japan. As for his power, I do not know how to better describe it. He duplicates himself instantly. He and his copies each have separate brains, but one consciousness. They do not feel each other's pain, but they share thoughts, ideas, and are control each other. It's not one that controls them all, it's all controlling each other. The only catch though is that each of them are created from each aspect of his egos. Next, about his schizophrenia. Previously he had 7 personalities that he would talk to. While he acted no differently, ever idea he had would be from one of them: intelligent Mark, Athletic Mark, aggressive Mark, wise Mark, social Mark, dark Mark, and regualar Mark. Since his powers came in, he has become much more sane from the fact that he can actually talk to each personality. Lastly, his gun obsession. Although I realize that they are illegal, that doesn't mean that it is impractical. Drugs such as marajuahna are illegal but are not hard to get and bring in a lot of money for the dealer. The guns are also not hard to build. I have build a few myself. Ask Insano.

So they all share the same mind. Is it the "original + clone" or are they "split" type? You make it sound like the split type.

And does he have Dissociative Identity Disorder or schizophrenia? They are not one in the same. Di D is multiple personalities, while schizophrenia is a Psychotic break from reality and start perceiving reality as something else. There are people can recover from it fully, people can recover using medication but as soon as it stops it'll come back, and there are some where sadly nothing can be done to help them.

I might suggest changing this a bit or making it a bit more clarified/defined.

For guns, he won't be on a level as you are, simply because he's got less ways to get his hands on the materials then you, and if someone found out he has guns I'd expect him to get in trouble, double so would an outside source say if he's got mental disorders.

also, on a check, you seem new to T Vtropes. Welcome to this place. and avoid the political threads. If you don't agree you'll get swamped.

Let's see. First, yes it is splitting. Second, seeing as I suffer from schizophrenia my self, I can safely say that it can also lead to a misconception of thoughts as those from a separate being. Although I this case, it is a combination of both. Lastly, I'm keeping the gun information even though he cannot build it in Japan. He moved from America to Japan less than a year ago when his father's job brought him there.

I never said no on the gun thing, but understand his resources would be very limited for most of the RP. And if as i said before, if he needs his meds on a constant basis he may run into trouble if he starts running out.

Supplies wise, I've build a gun using nothing but a mechanical pencil and a bike tire. Meds wise, he doesn't need them since his powers have arrived.

I like it, I just want to talk to you about something first. Mostly with that last sentence. Why not have it when he's taking his meds, said multiple personalities don't come out and it's all him. When he stops taking them, when he splits each one is those aspects of him which are harder to control or something. As said, I'll PM you when it's not 3:31 am.

Actually, the reason why I had him off the meds is because he wouldn't need it. Him being able to physically talk to his personalities made him sane. Instead of making all of them come out at the same time, he can control which ones would be out at a time. By having certain personalities working he can accomplish anything.

appearance: tall, lankey has acne scars across his forehead wears a hat to hide it. dark blonde hair, pale skin, brown eyes.

personality: always looks calm no matter what, if you look into his eyes you'll see he's really not. quite positve but dosn't like large groups of people. (hence he avoided the party) suffers from horrific nightmares.

2012 belief: he beleived a zombie virus would break out leaving civilisation in ruins.

talent: spent alot of time planning for apocylypse so knows basic first-aid and how to make a mouse-trap triggered security trap. (it's useful against zombies)

power/change: he got no real power but the creature haunting his nightmares leaked into his concious mind. somtimes he lapses into a frenzy, during these times he does not feel pain and becomes faster and stronger this has a price tho. the blood-lust of his frenzied state is unsaitable and will attack anything on sight until it stops. he eventually will learn to control this, and as a result will also have mild telekinetic powers from mentally destroying this monster within.

You do realize that this is not in america right? it's in a fictional island of japan. If you don't want to change him and make him japanese (I need to get Vyctorian to edit that in). If I may ask, can you tell me more about these nightmares, powers, and about him over PM?

oh right i forgot to say his background: his parents imigrated to Japan from New Zealand 2 years before he was born. they would be pretty rich but they're not very good with money and are always in some form of debt. his nightmares started when he was about 12 no one, not even his therepist knows why. in his nightmares he's usually being chased by a black shadowy thing with glowing red eyes. he's 15 now. another thing that i forgot to mention is that he has no shadow during lapses.

FINALLY! I'm caught up with the story! And everything else I had to do. And hopefully I'll stay up to date! Preparing new post right now!

(Note: Hitomi still doesn't have any powers, that I know yet.)

(Btw, I've recently (re)discovered the Wild Cards novels, whose premise is curiously similar to our game's. I'd recommend reading them for ideas.)

I'm intrigued to ask something, is regeneration and body warping too powerful of a skill set? Also, can my character become the villain here?

Name: David Whyvenyr

Troper: Shadow Dimentio

Age: 16

Clubs: Gaming

Power/change: Regeneration, and body warping.

Appearance: What a gloomy fellow.

Personality: David is a very negative, 'Glass half full' type person. He's also the type of person to hold grudges, even when it's against almost a entire school.

Talents: David is good with computers, and animals. He's also fairly well built, too.

Flaws: Chronically antisocial, and extremely lazy.

Backstory: Growing up as the victim of most bullying plots, David's not too much of a happy camper. In fact, most of the time at school he takes to hiding in dark places to keep from getting picked on. This, naturally, earned him the nickname 'Darkly' for the areas he enjoyed hiding in. The only reason he even bothers showing up to school anymore is because it his parents force him to do it, and because he has nothing better to do.

Other: He very well may become the villain, if only because the aspect has always intrigued him.
