Trails franchise (Trails In The Sky, Trails Of Cold Steel etc)

I think there's space for some short stories, at least - for example, there are several small Time Skips in Cold Steel where nothing of note really happened that you could slot something into.

As for particular fics, while they're mostly fluff (though there's some more serious stuff) and I wouldn't call them ''perfect', I personally enjoy the works of Fortune_Maiden, Heero_De_Fanel, and NightsMistress. There's a bit of slash in here, so I hope you don't mind that, though it's nothing too explicit.

Kinda disappointing not many seem to pick up on Estelle/Kloe, Estelle/Anelace, or Renne/Tita as a friendship.

Do you mean platonic friendship, or shipping friends?

Estelle's so heavily shipped in story with Joshua that I imagine most just kinda ignore other potential ships for her. I haven't finished SC yet (on chapter 8), so I dunno if anything changes this situation, but it's been pretty heavily pushed so far. I will say if I shipped her with anyone else it'd be Kloe. Tita and Renne are too young for me to be comfortable shipping them, but their friendship is adorable and who knows what the future holds in that case. Of course, while I'm fairly sure Renne gets redeemed, she hasn't been yet for me so I dunno what other stuff lies in the future.

True on the whole puppy love thing, it's just not the kinda thing I consider regarding my ships. Of course, I'm not huge on shipping so that might be why. Also, Kloe and Julia makes sense. I kinda keep forgetting that they aren't sisters because I think that was my first impression of them and it stuck before I learned Kloe's nature as the princess. But I could see them together for sure.

Also, Olivier is bi, correct? Is his relationship with Mueller just one of teasing him, or is there something more there, because while he talks of potential realtionships with other characters he talks like he's had at the very least a past relationship wth Mueller. Mueller doesn't seem to share his views, but I dunno. Also just a reminder just started chapter 8 of Trails in the Sky SC with no experience with Cold Steel, so if any of my questions lead to story spoilers feel free to ignore them.

Nah, Mueller and Olivier are buddies, nothing else. Olivier does that just to piss him off because, well, that's what Olivier does.

Also, just to add on the whole Renne/Tita thing, as of the current game (that's CSIV) they are both teenagers.

And I talk about Kloe/Julia, but in truth, Kloe already has a Love Interest. He's introduced in the third game, and can be described as "Olivier as a drunk frat boy". Their interactions are fucking hilarious.

Do Kloe and Lechter interact beyond Third? Unless it happened in the Crossbell games I don't think they do.

Kloe's coming back for CS IV. If they haven't interacted again before, they're definitely gonna now.

Thanks for the fanfic recs (I also love HDF's fics). I'm kinda thinking of a Fate/stay night and Trails crossover; would that be a good idea?

As for the crossover idea, it can work, but only, in my opinion, if you adapt Shirou's backstory into the Trails universe (the opposite doesn't work as well.

As an example, you could make him a Hamel survivro, or just make up a random city who caught fire. He would want to become a Bracer, obviously. Rin and Illya could be a erebonian noblewomen while Sakura is a DG Cult survivor, ect.

Just brainstorming ides, be sure to post it here if you decide to give it a go, though!

I was thinking of him getting kicked into Zemuria via reincarnation. It would mostly follow the UBW route, but he won't have access to all his abilities immediately. I have some nebulous ideas floating around of Olivert adopting him after Hamel, so he would be present for the Sky games as well as Cold Steel. Also, Shirou as the Straight Man would give Mueller a much-needed companion in suffering.

You'd have to ground the crap out of him though, without Divergent Law weapons, the characters that could keep up with him can be counted on one hand.

When it comes to shipping with Trails characters, I mostly fit that in the gaps between games. Tita has a lot of time to grow up, though CS 3 kinda throws a wrench in that. I mostly see her and Renne as future close friends, there's also lots of things you can throw in with interactions in the Hermit's Garden.

Kloe and Julia's sweet, Julia really needs more days off.

Well... considering how UBW works, he would have at least Gae Bolg, Kanshou and Bakuya, and Caladbolg it his disposal. I'd say they're pretty gamebreaking. Not to mention all the other Noble Phantasms Archer has.

Not to mention if anyone in the church catches wind of what he's up to, he'd immediately have the Gralsritter sniffing him out. Hard to argue you're not a heretic when you have portal-summoning magical weapons.

When I say native, I mean completely transplanting him to Zemuria.

Which means no Noble Phantasms, no Reality Marbles. You could, maybe, turn him into a Divergent being like Mc Burn, in a similar way to Rean.

Also, I was gonna wait until CSIV was released to suggest it, but fuck it: what do you guys think of purging the entry character pages and just make one huge page in the Kiseki franchise page a la the MCU character page?

'Cause as it stands, not only is updating older character entries a pain, but it's all too easy to spoil people who played the older games on the plot of newer ones. A single franchise character page would help downplay both of these issues.

I don’t know, I honestly still kind of hate how the MCU page is divided. Sure, it’s easier for characters like the Avengers, but minor characters kind of get the shaft, getting thrown onto pages with dozens of characters from several different movies and shows, and it becomes a chore to search through them, in my opinion.

I also don’t think that merging them into a collective Kiseki page would help with spoilers. Maybe it would help if you provided separate sections for, say, Sky and Cold Steel if a character had appeared in both, like Olivert.

I wouldn’t mind a little thing that said which games each character appears in, at least.

Yeah, but that's because the MCI has a unbelievably large secondary and tertiary cast. Kiseki has a smaller supporting cast in comparison.

More importantly, while it has a larger overlap of plots, most of it happens with major characters, with the supporting cast, as a rule, generally staying in one place.

And I argue a shared character page help with spoilers because it sends a warning sign to anyone who enters the page. It's all too easy for someone who plays the whole Sky trilogy to go into the character page, thinking that they already have all the important plot details, only to spoil themself to Cold Steel's plot by looking at Olivier's entry.

Besides, I'm only using the MCU as a general example. We can just make a better one.

I am againts putting different entries in different pages for the same character, because that just asking for a giant, not to mention redundant, clusterfuck.

If Kiseki had only a few games, sure, but it's a ongoing Long Runner with at least six more main game down the road, and Heavens only knows how many spin offs.

That's my take on it, anyway.

I propose we split the pages by major factions and put that on the main franchise page. Kevin and Ries for the Gralsritter/Dominion, as an example. Characters can be listed more than once, but their tropes go to the faction/group they belong to if the group's large enough to constitute a page.

Like, the Bracer section gets moved to a general main page not attached to a game, so we can put Tovel there.

Bracer, Dominion, police, the CS pages are fine since they're already split nicely, and Ouroboros, of course.

Otherwise, I think we can make a page for reoccurring characters who have a prominent role in at least one game outside their home subseries.

At least if they're listed as reoccurring, that's a flag for anyone who wants to go looking without fear of spoilers.

In addition to splitting recurring characters into different pages, I suggest listing which games they were in somewhere in bold to save people thinking "Meh, I'm mostly caught up, I'll be fine." and then reading, say, Millium's entry.
