I will said rather than blowing themselve up, yuske and co does end using a lot of wild crazy bet in their fight, specially yuske, while kurama is more "all was part of my keikaku" most of the time.

IIRC the audience during that scene, and Chu himself considered it a "death match." No one died, but the scene played it up as if someone was definitely going to die.

It seemed like this was a suicidal move. Hiei even pointed out that it was Jin's last-minute thinking that probably saved both of their lives, right Yusuke after lamented "at least one of them [him or Jin] should have died."

I don't recall him actually knowing that.

It still seems like often enough the protagonists put themselves in these nearly suicidal strategies. Fair enough on Kuwabara with the cat.

Also, I totally forgot about that earlier exchange between Yusuke and Jin. I thought you were talking about how Yusuke won in the end.

..I'm rather curious the exchange that went through Kuwabara and Yusuke as well.

It's even funnier when you remember that the Toguro brothers overheard the whole thing thanks to their excellent hearing and used it to fake a loss.

Just finished the second part a bit earlier.

That was fun. It is always cool to see someone reacting to a series for the first time.

I haven't found one.

We might not need one. The live action show is the only thing that’s happened with this franchise in years (so there’s not anything else to talk about) and unless the show is a huge hit like One Piece’s show there’s unlikely to be much disparity between the threads,

I'm surprised there isn't a TV Tropes page for the Netflix series yet. It's so far getting good word of mouth and as of this post, is currently in second place on Netflix's Top 10.

I finished watching the Live Action adaptation. Well, there's compressed and there's mushed into a tiny cube. It adapts nearly everything from Yusuke's 1st resurrection to the 3 Treasures to Genkai's Training to Rescue Yukina to the Dark Tournament (sort of) w/ a bit of the demon insects from the 4 Saint Beasts thrown in all in five 55 min episodes.

It's still 5 episodes. Not sure how many Netflix had commissioned.

Rewatched the show and it turns out that there's a Tagalog sub option for it. Probably bec of how BIG Yu Yu Hakusho is here in the Philippines. And Tagalog dub too. Fortunately no Dub Name Change like how Kurama turned from Kurama to Denise to Dennis or how Genkai changed genders from old man to young woman bec dubbers mistook their genders. Or worse Toguro was dub name changed into an anagram for a sexual slur.

The final part is up. I just finished watching it.

High highs and low lows, but still a great series. Or at least Mark thinks so.

Man, he sure did flip on Hiei super quick though, didn't he?

In short it hit the very problem we all discuess here previously, we kinda see this coming

The Live Action Yuyu Hakusho is, not to put too fine a point of it, fucking awesome holy shit.

Perfect blend of martial arts action. Absolute five stars.

If there's going to be a possible season 2, The only option they have is to adapt Sensui and they might compress much of that as well.

Well now I'm freaking excited.

I think that the YYH show should have a separate thread.

I mean maybe, but YYH isn't a gigantic franchise like One Piece that can really support multiple threads.

I really liked the fighting in the live-action show though. They really used the environment. Awesome stuff.
