You misunderstand by half, I theorize everyone is female.

Three Theories On the Birth of Celestial Gods

Their have been a couple pet theories at how a Celestial God comes to be. Below are three popular ones. Two seem to agree on a point, that the emotional stuff that make up the Celestial's 'domain' first must be gathered together, what happens next is where the two veer off. The third is even more different.

The Balloon Theory

This theory postulates that all Celestial Gods that could possibly exists already do so. Those that have not made themselves known yet simply lack the requisite focus upon their domain to 'inflate' to actual solidity, like a balloon. Many remain flat and invisible, waiting to come forth when filled with prayer and focus.

The Singularity Theory

This theory states that the 'domain' of the potential Celestial God gather its metaphorical mass in the Aether over time. When enough mass is gathered, the 'weight' of it will collapse in upon itself, much like the creation of a black hole. Full sentience is achieved in the formation of this singularity.

The Fertilization Theory

Like the Singularity, the 'domain' of the potential Celestial must first gather. Instead of forming a singularity though, it just form an egg waiting to be fertilized by a fae spirit, either so pure and infant-like as if to have no memories or whoever they were is mostly wiped away in the fertilization process. The egg is fertilized and hatches/grows into a brand new god.

I have not, but I plan on doing so soon. I've head it's pretty good. There is one immediate issue, though: There are no bears in Scotland. Of course it could be set before they went extinct.

When was that, exactly? Because (from what I hear) its set sometime in the first millennium, maybe the 10th century.

Which is about when the last Scottish bear died.

That was the last bear, I suppose.

Whoa... that gives the film a new spin, if looked at that way. (Not that it was the central theme, but still.)

I haven't seen it myself, just know there was a bear.

So, thoughts on my God Theories?

I'd like to make some edits to my Sphinx entry from a while back. It's really just cosmetic changes and allowing male Sphinx to exist, though they'd still be equally infertile. Bold is the changes, strike is the removals:

A Sphinx is a magical but mortal servant of the Atemet god of trickery and riddles. It's has the face and upper body of a maiden or androgynous male, the legs and arms of a lion and the wings of a hawk, though it may not always be in this form however. Sphinx may shapeshift between several hybrid and full forms, the only full form it cannot assume is that of a full maiden humanoid.

There skin is often the same as a humans but rarely their skin may appear to be metallic gold or bronze, and their eyes always glow yellow their are always yellow and some have a faint glow to them. They usually have an affinity for jewels, silks and shiny metals like gold and often have some adorning their bodies. They also have a love of riddles, tricks and pranks, they are mostly found in the northern deserts and mountains and are fountains of knowledge, wit and challenge. They often have black or brown human hair though other humanoid hair-colors are not impossible, which may be different from their fur and wing colors which vary from tanned to golden blond to light brown or even white. They stand about 4-5 feet tall on average 3 to 6 feet tall when sitting down, though their shape shifting greatly effects their size as they may take on the form of any Natural cat or bird of prey.

That's the core of it. Minor changes really wanted to make them seem somewhat more natural and less mystical, while still having it so that some has a mystical allure to them but not all as not all have magical powers.
