So, I was asking myself what kind of Pokemon story I would read. The answer was, "Pantyhose Tarou, I Choose You!" or something where (the) Mewth is the protagonist.

I'd like to inquire if you know any story about a/the Mewth being snarky, badass or genre savvy.

Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.

Isn't standard anime!Meowth always snarky whenever his teammates or one of the "Twerps" does/says something rather stupid/silly/worthy of being snarked at?

Yeah, he kind of is (from what little of him I've seen). But, how often does he save the day, and is there any 'fiction of that?

Wouldn't know. I kinda gave up on searching for decent Pokemon fics years ago. Maybe I could start again, though...

... So it's that bad? I'm almost convinced to write my own short Pokefic. Almost.

It used to be that bad in the mid 2000's; not sure about now, though.

BTW, no feedback on my question on the previous page?

I remember a while back that there was a pretty well-written animeverse fic about what would happen had Jessie, James and Meowth never met the twerps. All of the chapters took place around season 1 of the anime...

By the way, I'm also trying to flesh out some Original Characters who are type specialists (and only have around 3 Pokemon each) as opposed to the more orthodox multitype, full-six teams in fic. Since the majority of canon characters have a type specialty and since part of this fic is me skewering canon/general tropes I've found in fic, I wanted each of them to have a mix of traits found in canon characters with the same type specialty as them, and traits you honestly are not going to expect for that type.

They're all adults and form a Dark-Psychic-Fighting triangle (Psychic and Fighting specialists are both women, Dark guy is a dude.)

Question: I'm looking for this old fic, but it's probably long been taken down now. I just thought I'd asked and see anyone remembered it.

The fic (which was back in the early years of Poke Fiction-the RBY era) starts with Mewtwo whom after escaping from the Rocket Base decided to go on a rampage in Viridian instead of doing the events of the Movie. He is confronted by Ash and his team who are quickly taken out with only Charizard left standing. Mewtwo is about to kill Charizard when Ash comes up from behind and kills Mewtwo with an Axe.

Yes you read that right Ash Ketchum. Kills Mewtwo. With an Axe. (Ash having never taken a life before is of course wracked with guilt afterwards)

From here the exact details get kind of blurry. IIRC This was back in the time where Gary was seen as a smug jerk and during the League used 1-Hit KO moves that nearly killed Pikachu and Charizard. Ash and Gary had a confrontation in the hospital afterwards where Ash came out on top after tearing verbally into Gary.

Oak built a Poke Speak translator that could be put in a person's ear.

There was a "sport tournament" that had TR plotting something in the background (Jessie and James (Mewoth was absent) had taken a level in Bad Ass). Ash raced on Primeape and there was a hockey game and Charizard got stuck in a goalie outfit. IIRC Pidgeotto learn to sword fight like a Farfetch'd apparently.

Ash and Charizard (or was it just Charizard?) have a dream where they are confronted by Mewtwo's ghost (I think...it's been years remember) . Ash unravels the TR plot and stops them from taking a stadium hostage. Ash and Gary then have a rematch and Ash wins

EDIT: IIRC the title was something like 'The Road to Redemption'.

Anyone have any recommendations? I can't seem to find any good Pokemon fanfics. :T

I absolutely love I am Lucario... but other than that I have the same problem as you. I'd recommend the fic recommendations page, but it seems most of the stuff on there is not actually good.

This story Like No One Ever Was.

Nature brought the tornado, Team Rocket got them stuck in it, Age caused the building's collapse, and Bad Luck did the rest. But none of them are to blame for electrocuting Ash to the point of brain damage. That's all on Pikachu. Pokémon - Fiction Rated: K+ - English - Tragedy/Drama - Chapters: 19 - Words: 145,619 - Reviews: 112 - Updated: 8-18-13 - Published: 11-6-11 - - Ash K./Satoshi/Pikachu

I just love how the author explored Ash and Pikachu's friendship with one another with all the ups and downs. This is also all from Pikachu's perspective.

Alright, dumping a random Pokemon fanfic draft that was based off a concept I may or may not have mentioned before.

Night befell over Vermillion City as the police were ready to change guard at the police station. A dirty-blonde-haired man wearing a blue police uniform went to Officer Jenny and saluted her.

“Jenny, I’ll take over for now. You go get some rest.” The man said.

“Thanks Arch, I could count on you to help.” She said. Jenny was about to head off when the two could hear a faint whisper.

“Gaaaaaar…”

“Did you hear that?” Jenny asked.

“Probably just the wind.” Archie said. Just then, the street lights flickered. The two could see a dark energy formed into a ball. “What the…”

“Gen…” Archie recognized the kind of ball that the shadows were forming into.

“JENNY! GET DOWN!” Archie said, grabbing Jenny and pulling her down.

“GAR!” The ball flew towards the two, barely missing them as they headed down to the pavement. Archie and Jenny looked up and saw a giant shadow with two red eyes and a constant grin.

“Archie, what the heck that!?” Jenny asked.

“I have no idea! Hey! Do you know what you’re doing, punk!?” Archie asked the ghost, but it didn’t reply. It simply murmured…

“Gengar…” It spoke.

“Gengar? What, is that supposed to be your name? You must be one of those Rocket thugs. Don’t worry, Jen. I’ll handle this.” Archie said as he cracked his knuckles.

“Gengar…” The ghost said as it held out a fist. A dark purple energy built up on its fist. It tried to throw a punch at Archie, but he sidestepped the punch. He opened his mouth as fire flew from his mouth and formed fangs.

FIRE FANG!” He chomped down. The fire cut through the shadows, but didn’t hurt the ghost. “What the!?” Archie muttered before getting punched out by another Shadow Punch. “GAH!” Archie got knocked onto the wall, knocked out.

“ARCHIE!” Jenny ran to him and checked up on him. She looked at Gengar as she saw his sinister smile. For a moment, she felt her life flash before her eyes. She saw the bright light at the end of the tunnel… Well, she thought it was the light of the afterlife. To her surprise, the crowing of roosters confirmed that the sun was rising. Gengar faded away. Jenny slumped to her knees, muttering to herself: “What… was that thing?”

So... I am currently working on a Pokemon fan-fic myself. It's a OC-centric anime-verse fic... yet I'm not exactly sure whether or not to say something more about it due to who the lead character is.

[up][up] You don't say "an Officer Jenny" unless there is more than one "Officer Jenny" in town, I think. Each Officer Jenny is in charge of her own town/city/station, after all; same thing with the Nurses Joy, too.

IMO Pokemon Mystery Dungeon should have its own category on Fanfiction.net.

You know, I just had this question hit me: Is the plural of "Nurse Joy"/"Officer Jenny" supposed to be "Nurses Joy"/"Officers Jenny" or "Nurse Joys"/"Officer Jennies"?

IMO it should have the same plural and singular. Feels more natural to me.

I think it's Nurse Joys and Officer Jennies, because the entire name is the noun.

I.e. "Nurses Joys"?

No, I mean like that "that one Nurse Joy" and "all those Nurse Joy". Kinda like the word sheep.

Still think it's Nurse Joys. It doesn't quite sound right treating it like the words sheep or deer.

It's just that the -s plural of a person's name doesn't feel natural to me at all.

Considering they're all clones of the same person anyway....[lol]
