I like the cut of this girl's jib.
THIS IS FINE
Well lets see if she can *control* the orbs
"You can reply to this Message!"I love body snatching as a power set, fascinated to see where this goes.
There seems to be a sizable portion of species whose part in a evolutionary diagram begins with "A Wizard Did It"
"You can reply to this Message!"That access to memories is a huge security issue... How much has Sydney learned about her powers, and Maxima's? This is the kind of thing that can get you locked away for life, assuming they don't have a way to humanely provide bounded amnesia.
I also kind of wonder if they standardized a body type since the two we've seen so far look alike in their "native" bodies.
There does seem to be a standardized body type. We saw her going through options when she lost the first one. Her new boyfriend convinced her to get a tail.
Furries vs Scalies
"You can reply to this Message!"Lapha is so boned it's almost laughable. Now, ARCHON can just put Sydney in a cell with the orbs sealed inside a welded-shut metal tube and leave her for as long as they need to for Lapha to decide she's had enough. Or, Max can threaten to ash Sydney's head and leave Lapha to fade away without another host (I'm sure she wouldn't do it, but she could make a convincing enough threat given how much of a security risk the Sydney/Lapha merger is).
Dabbler might also just have something to extract her.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. And everyone else present just became a Person of Interest For Purposes of National Security (TM)
"You can reply to this Message!"After all, there must be some explanation for how she managed to extract the other person from their body, and stick them into the Eye of Sauron knock off.
Sydney's other personal quarters
"You can reply to this Message!"That is legit one of my nightmares (being stuck completely unable to move).
As noted, Dabbler should have been able to extract her. I can't imagine it would be easier to drag Sydney all the way back to ARCHON than just pull the spirit out and put her back in her old body, while giving the other victim her body back at the same time.
Hmm... there is a possibility that removing one of these machine spirits from a non-engineered body doesn't leave good results in the same way that uninstalling some games with bad copy-protection malware can ruin an operating system. I.e. it's possible, but it requires a more dedicated effort than just hitting the button if you want to leave the original software in place. And that's with a non-sentient program being removed...
The level of restraint seems like vastly overkill. Sydney's body isn't that dangerous.
Maybe it was designed and built before they knew that immobilizing the orbs also effectively puts a leash on her.
Then again...*looks at Digit* it may just be ridiculously overengineered.
"You can reply to this Message!"I'm curious about what the cells for the other people on the team look like. Heatwave is probably easiest (freezer), and Harem probably gets the same "high pressure chamber" trick they gave to Opal. Hiro and a few of the others probably just need very strong walls. Dabbler is probably impossible for human technology to confine, because while all her tricks are individually mid-tier, she's got too many to cover them all. Start with putting her in an anti-magic zone, but I'm not sure that would work.
Maxima is possible to confine, especially since they know the true extent of her powers, but it would be tricky. A constant electric charge strong enough to make her do an armor dump, maybe?
Would that kill her when she falls unconscious?
I vaguely remember something-ish resembling this, so... kinda?
