Do you mean Google Instant? Click on the gear in the upper-right corner of the homepage and select "Search settings". Then scroll down and click on "Do not use Google Instant". Then hit Save.
If you're not talking about Instant, could you describe your issue a bit more?

Sounds like Google Instant, but I think you need a Google Account to turn that off.

Don't need the account. I just turned it off in the settings (click the gear next to the Sign In button, save when done).

How do I get rid of that automated search crap that used to not be there. I can't even do something as simple as move my cursor in front of the word without completely changing the entire contents of the box.
