There is a PC port of SH 2... that's how I played it.

Be warned that it's not optimized for modern systems at all, so you'll probably have to do some tweaking.

[up][up]I like Eileen, that's about it. Then again, the walkthrough of the game I watched....well, let's just say that for SH 4 being his "2nd favorite horror game ever", he sucked at it. Bad. Like, 5 Swords of Obedience and never pinning a single ghost bad.

But you have to pin one of the ghosts! What, did he pull it out afterwords?

Yes. Yes he did. /facepalm

Not to mention he took every wrong turn possible, despite crossing the Apartments 2nd time atleast 3-4 different times to drop items at his room. And ran into Cynthia everywhere. Used a saint medallion once around her. Promptly returned to room and stored it. The whole playthrough I was like "Dear God....", but I wasn't sure I could find another playthrough without dumb voice-over.

Two HD versions of old games on a disc for full price is pretty not-good. I understand that having to redo the sound and such isn't free, but it's still nothing I'd be desperate to run out and buy on day one.

^^ Ugh.

^ It doesn't help that 2 and 3 has little to do with each other.

So far I've only seen 2 and 4. The new voice for Mary sounds good, and I suppose James' is ok, though I felt that with his personality and everything, the crappy original acting actually suited him. Eddie's is just terrible.

Besides the main 4, what others would be worth watching a playthrough of? I'm afraid I don't have any of the newer consoles, and the likelyhood of me finding copies of the old ones around here is near zilch.

I heard Origins was fairly good. Might be worth a watch.

I thought that Origins was an excellent prequel. It captured the feel of the first game and the puzzles are fantastic.

So Troy Baker is the new James? Are we sure it's not NolanNorth?

Huh. Anyone know of an Origins playthroiugh that isn't only 240pi? I found a pretty amazing one of Homecoming, guy should be in the movie biz. I'm only about 20 minutes in, but Homecoming is shaping up to be the best one I've seen <_<

I found Homecoming's fighting system decent after a while, but in turn I found it harder to be scared of enemies that I could dodge. In other SH games, you either struck first, ran back long before the hit landed, or took damage, which may be why all the LP's I've seen just ran past them.

I wouldnt know not having played it myself, but it seems pretty fluid with the knife strikes. I think there's a little too much emphasis on dodging though, I mean, practically speaking it probably is the best thing to do, but I'd prefer a little more blockage or *gasp* a surprise attack on a Silent Hill monster.

I heard that they did not pay Guy Cihi, who portrayed James in the original game, some royalties or something after using his work for the HD Collection. God Konami, all of a sudden, you're like the way less successful Activision.

James's new VA goes into that a bit here. As I understand it, Guy seems to think that he should be getting residuals from sales of SH 2 when voice acting contracts don't actually work that way.

Somehow you know that the time is right.

...Why is it being delayed again? Did Konami finally become cognizant of Mass Effect 3? Not that I plan on buying it anyway, but I know some people online that are looking forward to it. :/

In related news, Amazon has apparently begun listing Silent Hill Downpour at $40 USD. I don't know if that's a good sign or not...
