Honestly, Logos doesn't really catch my interest, as the character designs just don't sit very well with me. Regardless, since (combination sequence aside) it looks nothing like Genesis or Evol, I hope it goes the alternate universe path like Gundam used.

The OVA, meanwhile, has got me hyped. The Jin/Yunoha look-alikes from Showa-era Japan, not really (since I'm kind of doubting that they'll be taking part in the action), but Solar vs Evol is just all kinds of awesome. Also, seeing Solar and its pilots with updated animation/designs: DO WANT.

Kagura is clearly present in Aquarion, which is good, since he made me like Evol a lot more than I probably should've. The only thing that could make this better is if Kagura was piloting Evol instead of Amata, but that is highly unlikely.

Found this on The Aquarion Community (apparently, Mokochan got the info from somebody else):

"CITAZIONE Sousei no Aquarion LOVE! PV

So, here is as much as I can remember about the special PV. It’s all under the break. I don’t know if there will be a release later on, but I am hoping there will be because it was very exciting. And uh…silly. Everyone was laughing. If there’s any problem with this being up I will take it down.

The PV starts with shots of Showa era Japan before settling on Shin, who is Jin’s counterpart. He rides a bus to the beach by Fuji-san and gets off to look for precious stones for his radio and hears Yuno, Yunoha’s counterpart, singing Yunoha no Mori. When she’s noticed she runs off and leaves behind the Sousei book, which has a pansy pressed into it. The book also glows some.

While this is happening Fudo is seen standing holding a black tadpole in some water in his hand. Being Fudo.

The PV cuts to Evol and Andy and Amata sneaking into the girl’s locker room. Mixi of course gets pissed at him and seals the hole. Amata tries to explain he hasn’t seen anything but Mikono is still upset. Yunoha is on the balcony singing Yunoha no Mori when she gets called to talk with command as a rift has started to appear in the sky. Kagura shows up at tells her that Tama [her frog-cat plushie] smells like Jin and he doesn’t like it.

The vectors launch with Kagura, Zessica and Yunoha.

Shin and Yuno meet up at a shrine, which has some foreshadowing since the guardian statues are frogs which is fairly rare. The name of the shrine reveals it’s also a Fudo shrine. As they head out on the bridge Shin’s radio picks up Yunoha singing Yunoha no Mori and he tries to take the book from Yuno who declares it’s precious. The book tears in half and freezes time in the area and opens up rifts in the sky.

EVOL’s vectors appear and immediately gattai, and soon after Sousei’s appear and gattai, Apollo declaring that something reeks and he and Kagura wanting to fight each other. The Sousei pilots are Sylvie, Apollo and Rika. Shortly after the fight starts, Sousei mode changes into a wolf with Apollo going berserk. This escalates to he and Kagura fighting.

During this time Shin is trying to find Yuno so he can apologize and mend the book. Yunoha sees him and thinks it’s Jin, causing her to switch with Mikono as Aquarion EVOL breaks apart from Apollo’s attack. They reform as Geppard but are still defeated. Eventually Shin finds Yuno and as he protects her from one of the attacks with a barrier he gets more flashbacks/forwards of Jin’s memories. Yuno falls in the ocean and he jumps after her. As they are about to meet the book glows again and causes a universal distortion.

After Shin and Yuno wake up they find themselves in separate places. Jin is now with Rika, Sylvie, and Zessica. Rika explains that the pansy represents loneliness and he wants to go save Yuno.

Yunoha, back at the academy, has disappeared and left behind only Tama with her ability.

Yuno wakes up and is startled by rabid Apollo who starts to fight with Kagura again. Mikono talks with her and they decide to go get Jin.

Tama is seen sitting up and heads towards the switch room.

As each team heads into the super dimensional bridge they gattai. The team with Mikono gattai’s into a version of Spada, while Sylvie’s gattais into Geppard which is dubbed Geparion. Both sides try to grasp each other’s hands causing a new attack registration called something like “Goodbye loneliness grasping canon”. This fails and they’re thrown into Showa again with the vectors breaking apart. There’s actually a force switch as Tama switches out with a confused Zessica [actually it might be Mikono, I can’t remember correctly, either way it’s ridiculous] and Yuno is force switched with the other female member. Yunoha appears to help her pilot, while Jin helps Shin. Shin, Tama, and Yuno form a new gattai: Frog.

It’s a Frog version of Aquarion. Green, etc. I am not making this up, no one could believe it or stop laughing when the gattai was shown because of Tama’s static face. After this two seperate Aquarion’s form and register another new attack with their simultaneous mugen punch, again I can’t remember the name it was something like “red line of love…” Those involved in all gattai’s press hands with one another and the frog version of Aquarion hops across the world in Mugen Jump attack.

This fixes the book, Shin and Yuno are a couple, things return to normal. Fudo has been in and out of the PV with his tadpole metaphor, with a black and white one forming a ying-yang and then disappearing when the book is fixed.

The credits role and a new version of Sousei no Aquarion -Gattai ver.- is played. Everyone laughed a bit as it’s led by Yunoha, and it’s sort of fun to hear Yui Ogura sing a more powerful song in such a soft voice.

tl;dr Jin is in Tama, Yunoha is happy. Yuno and Shin are happy. Kagura and Apollo should never meet."

If this is true, then I have 2 things to say:

  • Well...that was a lot sillier than I expected.
  • YES! Kagura gets to fight using EVOL! I don't even care if he lost; that alone made my day! Mikono getting to pilot Spada is pretty cool too.

Just got done watching it subbed. Kagura telling Mikono and Amata to get a room was a highlight.
